I did not see Leigh in the Gulls Nest today, so expect th hear some good news form him very soon. He has done another fine job for the forum and I would like to say a big thank you to Leigh, who really has had so little time to anything lately, but as not let us down on the forum.

Dave.... many thanks... At two o'clock in the morning we rushed up to RD&E, Exeter hospital... At one o'clock in the afternoon my beautiful baby boy was born, at three o'clock my lovely wife decided she needed a few hours rest and asked if I minded taking off for an hour or two, so I arrived at Plainmoor just as the first half ended... but found I was locked out. Thanks Terry for coming down and letting me in! A most wonderful 45 minutes, for that is all I got to see, and then a quick beer and back to Exeter to present the little man with a signed match ball. Just the most fantastic day....
(The only slight problem? Being born in Exeter hospital I found that the curtains which pulled across to give privacy to the 'inmates' all showed various painted scenes from the city. His first vision on coming into this world was a coloured drawing of St. James's Park complete with grandstand, pitch, goalposts... I really couldn't believe it!)

Congratulations Leigh and "Mrs Leigh", whatever you care to call your new baby son I shall shut my eyes and all I can envisage at the Christening is the vicar saying "I name this child Sydney James.................."

Congratulations Leigh, that really is such great news for you and your good lady. I hope you told her as you left to dash off and catch the second half of the Northampton game, that you would not be back to pick her up until Tuesday night, as you have to work to make the Tuesday deadline for the TFF programme pages for this Saturdays game. All the best Dave

Congratulations Leigh! I don't know if I am more surprised that you missed the first half or that you didn't miss the second half. If he was born at 1, you had bags of time to get him to Plainmoor by 3 and have him parade on the pitch at half-time as a Junior Gulls founder member. You really must try harder next time.
