Karen Carpenter best female singer, and Marvin Gaye, best male singer! My all time favourite song...just close your eyes and lay back. Just a picture of an old 45, with no visual stimulation...not that I ever look at anything visual to stimulate me! Enjoy.

…...anyone else remember Abigail Rocket-Blast? - Mud at their finest imho - takes me back alright........
Just wanna tell you
Well, well you changed your name to Abigail Rocket-Blast
And then they lined you up for a Hollywood movie cast
With all them big cigars and motor cars
You thought you was a movie star
But Abigail Blast you sure are changing fast
…."Rocket" by Mud - 1974.....

..."Love Over And Over" - Kate and Anna McGarrigle - (RIP Kate).......... ...this is the version I've been seeking for years - get in - cheeky little piano start, a bit of the song, and then Anna quickly says "Say it again Kate" - superb - not easily found, and that's an understatement. Thank you so, so much to YouTube - its' the way she sings - ......."I Like To Write Rock And Roll But It Doesn't Always Hang Together".......... I could say love over and over and over I could say baby baby baby 'til my tongue spirals out of my head When there's no one looking over my shoulder I like to write rock and roll but it doesn't always hang together So what do I know
Or anyone know about love
(I think its' the version off the 1982 album "Love Over And Over" - nigh on impossible to get hold of) ......and who couldn't love the line about walking on the moors, where Emily, Anne and Charlotte poured their hearts out - exquisite phrasing, and beautiful poetry of the highest level.......... You ask me how I feel I said my heart was like a wheel Why don't you listen to it sometime I've walked upon the moors On many misguided tours Where Emily, Anne and Charlotte Poured their hearts out And what did they know What could they know about love Or anyone know about love..and its' only Mark Knopfler on guitars on this track - extraordinary - superb playing - get in you dancer - fabulous - check out the wiki doodah entries below....... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Over_and_Over....taken off YouTube...... by paul elliott - Brilliant album and two of the most talented ladies to ever grace the stage This song sounds better every time I hear it Say it again Kate
Wonderful
...respect to you paul elliott........

.......and this beauty is for my learned fellow Muzo, Alpine Joe - who likes so much of the stuff I stick up on here........... ......this ones' for you Uncle Joe....... ......the mighty, mighty IDLES - DANNY NEDELKO......... ...dash gamage put the following comment on YouTube - "How can a band make me want to both punch a wall and then hug a stranger in just two singles?? amazing." - thank you wise one - it sums them up beautifully.

Loosing my virginity...it took me soooooooooooooooooooo long! I remember being at school when I was about 14, and somebody coming up to me and saying 'I've just had a bit of tit off so-and-so!' 'Oh yeah!' I said with a knowing look on my face, as if it happened to me all the time! Shortly after, another person came up to me and said 'I've just had a bit of tit off so-and-so!' The same bloody so-and-so! This time I had a confused look on my face, and I said to this person, 'If you have just had a bit of tit off so-and-so, and the person before you had a bit of tit off the same so-and-so, before long, she'll have no bloody tits left!' Receiving a rather strange look from this person, they then went on to explain what happens! 'Oh yeah' I said, with a look on my face that said, I knew really! My neighbours daughter was pregnant at 15 and married at 16! She put it on a plate for me, though what I was supposed to do with it on the plate ( I had no idea if it had been in it's natural position) I didn't know! Of course I know what to do now, but I won't say because it's bad manners to do it! I was becoming desperate, my eye sight was failing and I was constantly bumping into things! Then along came Mandy! I was driving a Triumph Herald Convertible at the time, and it happened on the passenger seat of my car, outside of her parents house! What a lady...what a night...what a car! Enjoy!

Ooooh a dedication . Thank you kindly Mr_W. And well done on keeping the music thread going almost single-handedly, with an always interesting and varied selection for us.

I very rarely have anything to say on this thread, and then only after a few glasses of red wine. However, I couldn't resist drawing people's attention to the most outrageous piece of non-music it would ever be possible to experience.
I switched over to BBC4 on TV this evening to see what "Belshazzar's Feast" was all about, and remained transfixed by it for about 15 minutes before realising that before too long it would probably drive me mad. The "music" consisted of a spasmodic series of discordant blasts in the same key produced by the brass section. It sounded as though a group of small kids had been let loose on some trumpets, trombones and saxaphones and told simply to blow them as hard as they could. There was quite a large audience in the Albert Hall and I wondered how they could sit there for an hour and a half and listen to that horrible racket. Maybe they enjoy being cultural snobs among their friends.
I have always considered rapping to be the worst form of "music" that I had ever heard, but I certainly changed my mind this evening. It's alarming to think that this crap was written less than a hundred years ago and the composer, William Walton apparently, had an abiding interest in jazz!
