I wonder If we might see Kevin Wills returning to Plainmoor. Leon Hapgood has left the club to take up a post in charge of the Youth Academy of ambitious Canadian club Calgary Foothills. Leon who has been in charge of United's link with Paignton Community College's Soccer Course, will run a Calgary Academy which includes 700 boys.
Kevin Wills has mutually terminated his contract at Truro City, because he has been offered a fantastic career opportunity.
So as he lives in Torbay could he be replacing Leon?

Well I've now read the Truro City site and as it mentions "increased travelling" I would say he's going because of the increased travelling involved in the British Gas (Southern League) set up and that he could well be the replacement for Leon Hapgood who, incidentally; I thought was an excellent guy in the mould of Matt Hockley..............not really up to the standard to pull up any trees in the Football League but a credit to the club and himself during his time with the Gulls - and a ruddy good non league player to boot! Good luck to all three "Proper Torquay Boys" mentioned in this post and it just goes to show that (as in the case of Kevin Hill) you don't have to be a world beater to be a success in life and that in the broad scheme of things there IS a life outside of being in the game full time and as that usually takes up far more of your allotted time than the early years. Leaving at the right time can be the key to opening the door to a really varied, interesting and memorably satisfying life thereafter.............as I have certainly found out. From my personal point of view, whilst it hasn't all been plain sailing and as I would have planned it; it's certainly been entertaining, hugely enjoyable, varied, stimulating and ultimately rewarding...................jeez, I hope there's plenty left over for me yet!

Merse my money is on me mate, anyway I really hope it happens, this young man has been owed something by Torquay for a long time now. He along with two other players, played the part they were asked to play in our promotional season under Leroy. Their part may not have been big, but they still played it. No sooner had the wheels of the team bus, stopped back at Plainmoor, on its return from Wembley, he was told he was no longer required by the club. OK we were going up into a higher league and no he was not really good enough to play at the next level up. Why tell him before the Promotion parade that took place a few days later. He nor the other two players who were told at the same time, were not on the parade, they were upset, not only by the news but the timing of it. As Bateson was on a cruise, one can only think Leroy made the decision when to tell them. So lets hope, If he indeed comes back, we will at least have the wrong, put right.

Robbie Herrera is the replacement for Leon Hapgood, he has been involved in the youth set-up already so i suppose he was always going to be in the frame.

Thanks for the update, Robbie is someone I have always liked, so good luck to him, in his new role. I also hope Kevin is happy in his new job, maybe the club can find another way to make things up to him.
