Liverpool fan, Michael Shields was released yesterday after Jack Straw gave him a Royal Pardon.
In 2005 after Liverpool`s win in the Champions League final in Istanbul a waiter was killed and Michael Shields was arrested and charged with the murder even though he pleased innocent and even though there was lack of evidence and that somebody else had confessed to the murder and I have to say its about time isnt it?
Why had it taken so long to free him when it was clear he was innocent. What NEW evidence had come to light 4 YEARS later that meant that he was innocent.
I`m glad he is free as it is a clear miscarrige aof justice and the goverment here and in Bulgaria owe him more than a Royal Pardon, they owe him thier deepest apologies and an explanation of why it taken them so long to free him.
