As Spurs are my second team i left my thoughts on 606, just wondered what people thought about this on here. It seems to be a recuring issue these days.
Levy is right to make this statement but this extract from his comments is extremely worrying for Tottenham
"I have absolutely no wish to sell either player and to date we have not accepted any offer for either. However, when a player's head is turned and their commitment is absent, particularly when they occupy key positions such as that of striker, they become a negative influence in a team dressing room in which they were once a positive addition and influence. This is the situation we now have on our hands, with both Dimitar and Robbie having made it clear that they wish to leave for Manchester Utd and Liverpool respectively".
Berbatov has been off for a long time we all knew months ago that he would eventually leave. These comments though, clearly state that both want to leave and are acting negatively toward the club. In the case of Keane he has had by far the best period of his career at spurs and its sad that that seems to mean so little to him. Signing players like Modric is pointless if we are just going to lose our other best players because they decide to leave, despite the fact that they are contracted to the club and they signed those contracts. I am sure Modric will have 1 or 2 great season's and then UTD or Chelsea will decide they want him and the trend will go on and on. No club will EVER break into the big four if this sort of thing is going to continue to happen. Contracts mean nothing. I now understand how Villa feel about Barry. Ferguson is a hypocrite and UTD should have no option to sign Berbatov unless Spurs make him available to them and they meet the price that Spurs will take. Clearly, Berbatov has not been made available so these comments are inexplicable.
I also understand how Simon Jordan feels about Bostock, football has just become dominated by finance and power of the big clubs it feels now as though every club is just a feeder club for the club's who are a little bigger than them.
In the case of Berbatov and Keane, i feel that if a little loyalty was shown the results would follow. The addition's of Hutton, Woodgate, Modric, Gomes and Dos Santos show that Ramos clearly has high intention's for this club. If big players stay while other big players sign then the club is clearly going to perform much better. If, on the other hand one big player leaves for every one that arrives you are constantly back to square one.
