We made it, we are in the world cup, made it through after possibly one of the single most boring games of football I have ever witnessed but what the hell it worked!

Congratulations. But do Australians really think 'Socceroos' sounds good? It sounds like the sort of name an under-5s team would have. It's not as bad as the New Zealanders though...All Blacks, Black Caps, Black Sticks etc

Cheers Islington, I very much want to meet England in one of the World Cup games, I recon we stand a chance after watching yesterdays game! Nothing wrong with "Socceroos" mate, proud of it actually. Our Olympic team is called The Olyroos, rugby The Kangaroos and Wallabys, depending on the which code. We have a different mentality towards sports Down Under.

We have a different mentality towards sports Down Under. True, and I guess Australia's sporting success speaks for itself. I've nothing but admiration for the way in which Oz consistently turns out world-class sportmen in a variety of sports and disciplines. Makes me sick really
