Dave you must be ancient! I can only remember Bill always being 167. His son, Rob, races too, 467. I know Bill was poorly and didnt race for awhile, but I think he's back now. He started out as 667 and used it for a number of years, he was then living in Pensilva not sure of spelling in Cornwall. You have meet me, you thought I was a sweetie now you think I'm ancient, must have been the dim lighting Bev that made me look so young and handsome Aw you are still a sweetie Dave

And a 10 minute walk away if that. Is that the part of Ealing you live in Chris? I always had you down as a bit of a canal dweller, living like Rosie & Jim down by the Grand Union rather like Mr & Mrs Ealinggull! ;D By the way, as a Londoner; what did you think of Boris and the Olympic presentation on OUR behalf at the Beijing Closing do? Presenting London's cultural diversity in that way was a brilliant antidote to the wall to wall, one dimensional "Chinesity" of Beijing - even to the point of the image of Myra Hindley that found it's way onto the projections at a pre-stadium "do" (we know how to honour our paedophile murderers from err..........Lancashire don't we) and when that bus unfolded I thought a load of Al Qaeda victims were going to stagger out just like Russell Square! "Billy Bunter" BoJo shambling on like that was a perfect antidote to the po faced blazers, and did you hear his later speech about "Whiff Whaff" *and how table tennis was developed on the dining tables of England? Yes folks, it'll soon be 2012 and we'll all be singing along with Boris to " It's Coming Home, It's Coming Home; It's coming..............Whiff Whaff's Coming Home" ;D ;D ;D * In "BorisSpeak" - the new language of London, he informed us that the original name of table tennis was "Whiff Whaff"Us luvs our new mayor don't us! Hey, just imagine Danny Stevens as a table tennis player; he'd have to leap from chair to chair lined up at his end of the table! ;D I live near to Ealing Common Merse. Quite near to the Gunnersbury Avenue/Uxbridge Road interchange! I thought Daft old Boris was good value. Anything to make Seb Coe cringe is always welcome. I did hear a phone in on Five Live driving back after the Histon match about how London could possibily compete with the opening ceremony the Chinese put on in Beijing. The general consensus was that we would open proceedings with the Chuckle Brothers playing "To me, to you" with the Olympic torch and then finish it off with Status Quo. Personally I'd like to add in an huge explosion when the torch lights up and get Michael Caine shouting over the PA "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off".

Exciting update for you Dave. (dont even think Ross has put this on our website yet, so its an exclusive ) ...... Owing to the fact Ross really enjoyed his rookie season and did so well, he wants to carry on racing.. we now have the dilemma that two drivers dont go into one race car ;D (well it would be an extremely tight fit)!! So as Brian hasnt got time to build a new chassis/car from scratch, Ross has bought an autocross national hot rod from a Scottish driver. (Hot rods from Scotland tend to be cheaper) So Bri and Ross took the van and trailor all the way to Auchtermuchty in Fife last weekend and bought the car back. (Fuel for that journey cost £250 ) Its minus engine, gearbox etc, just a rolling chassis and body kit (fiesta) Brian is putting a race engine together for Ross over the winter and they have begged, borrowed and stolen lots of other things needed!! They drove to Trowbridge and bought a very nice webber carb thingy ( I have no idea what I'm talking about of course, but they were very impressed with it all the same)!! Of course they will rebuild the car how they went it, but all in all it should be ok, maybe not quite so competitive as Bri's car, (thats had ALOT of money spent on that engine), but it should be fairly good. It will be sprayed in our race colours. Once the Fiesta body has seen better days then it will be replaced with one of Brian's new Tigra kits. The other problem is we only have one trailor with the van, so either we get another trailor and take two cars towing.....or Bri will sell the camper van and get a truck to fit one race car on and tow the other. I will be stood on the bank watching the both of them I am not looking forward to that!! Anyway Dave, i will post some pics soon.

Bev you know I will make sure the F2's are on ;D life at a track without B.Batten would not be thinkable, Carol loves the racing as long as the sun Is shinning, she hates those cold rainy days that us die hards will endure.

Well thats very understandable Dave! I can think of a few times when we've endured bitter bitter cold. Northampton in Dec a few years back springs to mind. At least when you're actually racing you have shelter, you can come in the van and warm up, I'll even make you both a cuppa!

Well Dave, we arrived back from a rather wet Llandow meeting last night. Brian did very well especially considering he hasnt raced for a year. He won the first two races, then finished 2nd in the final but unfortunately was disqualified for contact Ross has put a report on the website and a few piccys. It was an interesting meeting though, with all sorts of cars there. I prefer watching Brian race the short oval tracks though if I'm honest, not much liking the speeds they reach at the circuits. He loved it though!! www.loramracing.co.uk/

Great and glad you had a really good weekend, I'm sure the boys loved the extra speed and getting that bit more out Of the cars.
Just downloaded a wallpaper from the site, looks good.
Happy and safe racing

Hey Dave and People. As you know my son, Ross won the Hot Rods Track Championship at Mendips raceway this year, which in all honesty was a pretty amazing feat for a Rookie driver who before the start of the season hadnt driven anything other than a Peugeot 106 Diesel on the road! Anyway I need your help. If you are interested and think Ross deserves it and have a couple of mins to spare, please could you go on the Mendips raceway website and vote for Ross Loram as your Mendips raceway driver of the Year 2008. We will be attending the Mendips dinner and dance in January and Ross will be presented with the Trophy again for winning the Hot Rods points title, it would be so lovely if he won the driver of the year too. It would also make a change for a Torquay driver to win it. Only one vote per person of course, I have put the weblink below. Much appreciated. Thanks Bev xx www.apwd.co.uk/joomla/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=57
