As far as I know Dave, Crispin Rosevear owns Autospeed. Sorry I havent replied sooner. As you probably know so much has been going on, the last few weeks have been very difficult. On to more cheerful happenings anyway Dave, thought I'd let you know that Ross has won the track title (points champion) for this season at Mendips. His last meeting for this season took place yesterday and he secured enough points to take the overall points win!!! He's chuffed to bits as you can imagine, especially as its his first season ever. What a rookie! Incidently, its a title Brian has never won in all his years of racing the car, it eluded him somehow! But he's really proud of Ross as any dad would be! Will post a few piccies soon and Ross will update our race website when he comes down to earth I expect it will be in the Herald in the near future. Take care Dave, Bev

Hi Bev you must post only when you are able, life as we both know has just not been as good as we might have liked lately. Great news on Ross, I do love the Mendips raceway and It is far more suited to hot rods, Brian and you must be both so proud, lets hope Ross does not brag to much to Brain, who has been a good driver and has won plenty over the seasons. Do feel that I may start getting more into my racing again, sorry, but you know my first love Is stockcars but hot rods come second You also take good care Bev and hope to see you at a Jack Sears party soon. Dave

Yes generally F1's race on shale tracks. Word of warning, I've seen the F1's a few tines, and they are ear splittingly loud. I stood far to near to the track at Foxhall, Ipswich one day and I'm not kidding you my ears really hurt as they went past. Like Dave I prefer the F2's but National Hot Rods are my favourite.

Thanks Bev I may well just do that, My last world final f2 at the mendips was to watch Billy Batten defend his world title win from the season before. How many years ago was that far to many to remember He turned up in a gold racing suit, but Bill had a few enemies on the track and he was never going to be allowed to finish the race, is no then was 667 but later he changed it.

Dave you must be ancient! I can only remember Bill always being 167. His son, Rob, races too, 467. I know Bill was poorly and didnt race for awhile, but I think he's back now.

He started out as 667 and used it for a number of years, he was then living in Pensilva not sure of spelling in Cornwall. You have meet me, you thought I was a sweetie now you think I'm ancient, must have been the dim lighting Bev that made me look so young and handsome

Hangar Lane Gyratory on a Friday night is a pretty good bet! ;D And a 10 minute walk away if that. Is that the part of Ealing you live in Chris? I always had you down as a bit of a canal dweller, living like Rosie & Jim down by the Grand Union rather like Mr & Mrs Ealinggull! ;D By the way, as a Londoner; what did you think of Boris and the Olympic presentation on OUR behalf at the Beijing Closing do? Presenting London's cultural diversity in that way was a brilliant antidote to the wall to wall, one dimensional "Chinesity" of Beijing - even to the point of the image of Myra Hindley that found it's way onto the projections at a pre-stadium "do" (we know how to honour our paedophile murderers from err..........Lancashire don't we) and when that bus unfolded I thought a load of Al Qaeda victims were going to stagger out just like Russell Square! "Billy Bunter" BoJo shambling on like that was a perfect antidote to the po faced blazers, and did you hear his later speech about "Whiff Whaff" *and how table tennis was developed on the dining tables of England? Yes folks, it'll soon be 2012 and we'll all be singing along with Boris to " It's Coming Home, It's Coming Home; It's coming..............Whiff Whaff's Coming Home" ;D ;D ;D * In "BorisSpeak" - the new language of London, he informed us that the original name of table tennis was "Whiff Whaff"Us luvs our new mayor don't us! Hey, just imagine Danny Stevens as a table tennis player; he'd have to leap from chair to chair lined up at his end of the table! ;D
