Yeah, i would be happy with a point from this game. Will be listening to it on RD and i'm not expecting a rip roaring classic. Probably a boring 0-0, but job done.

Interesting range of views with the general consensus being that the 4-4-1 formation that has served us so well will continue to be used. At the end of the day with a recent record of played six, won six and a 16 - 2 goal record it will be quite hard to argue against. As Buckle has hinted he is considering a change of formation wouldn't be surprised to see the 5-2-3 type formation utilised if we end up chasing the game or one of the wingers becomes injured. Off to London this weekend so can't even listen to Radio Devon Looking forward to reading the excellent match reports on this site Hope for any win, which would leave Lewes between us and the top of the table!!

Tough examination of the unbeaten record this............... Not a place we win often...............not that this is logical but has a strange "raison d'etre" in football. Home team yet to lose at home this season. Injuries biting into the selection options and will therefore have a bearing on the manager's preferred method of playing. Colin Walker is a diligent manager who has tracked us judiciously - I saw him at Rushden and he was at Plainmoor last Saturday, so he views this game with the utmost importance as their rapidly diminishing opportunity to hang on to our coat tails. Conclusion: I don't expect a win, and would happily accept a draw; but I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was the day our record went. Too hard to call and I wouldn't be having a punt on this game. Better to "invest" a little on the 2.35 at Cheltenham - no 2 Ashley Brook - each way 28/1 but 20/1 at quarter odds up to 5th place with the sponsors Paddy Power. Mind you, no 16 Imperial Commander could be value at 8/1 to win. A renowned "horse for the course" at Cheltenham as is trainer Nigel Twiston Davies, although as a note of precaution his horses all ran a bit flat there yesterday and aren't particularly "on fire" at the moment. Shan't be going to Hampton FC as planned as there's rugby at nearby Twickenham and that'll bugger the traffic up,so it's down the bookies, back in front of the telly for the racing and the head phones on for the football for me this afternoon!

Blimey alan, how do you get away with spending saturdays doing that? She has got me laying gravel in the drive. I have been up since 630 moving cars and waiting for the delivery, my back is shot already. So RD for me this afternoon. Not feeling confident if I am honest. I would hope for a relatively defensive display and a sills goal against the run. I would be happy with a point.

Blimey alan, how do you get away with spending saturdays doing that? Although Bijou was due to go to France for the weekend (without the kids I might add) she didn't fancy hauling her pregnant state onto the train so it's back to the "Status quo" of Saturday's my day................Sunday's hers. Olivia's playing happily with her friends and Anthony's doing his usual holding court up the barbers with his uncle! I work too long and hard in the week to be arsed with "jobs"at weekends!

20 Bevan 04 Woods 16 Hodges 25 Ellis 07 Mansell 03 Nicholson 11 Wroe 14 Hargreaves 08 Sills 10 DSane 12 Thompson Substitutes 02 Brough, 09 Benyon, 17 Green, 19 Stevens, 24 Adams
Sounds like 5-3-2 with Ellis joining-up with Woods and Hodges in the centre. Sodge and Dyer starting up front for York <GULP>!!!!

Sounds like 5-3-2 with Ellis joining-up with Woods and Hodges in the centre. I disagree, I bet (knowing Bucks) he will use 3-5-2 with the full backs pushing on. Having a midfield three in front of a "back five" would hand too much initiative to the home team and I've NEVER seen us use that line up.

Or are they 1-4-3-1-1 with Hodges sweeping behind Woods and Ellis and traditional fullbacks and Thompson alternatively being a fourth midfielder or an extra striker?

Fantastic result. What battling spirit after they equalised. How often in the past would that have ended up in a loss. No goal for Sills but won possession on half way for first and pressured keeper leading to the second.

....................and so it goes on. Sign of a quality squad when (a) Mark Ellis can wait all that time for his chance again and come in with a MoM performance AND a last minute winner, and (b) having conceded a late equaliser we didn't opt to hang on for the point but went on to win it!

So pleased with that result. one nil up, sit on it a bit but still make two good chances. Could have let their heads drop when the late equaliser went in................ but no, they push on and score the winner away inside injury time.
This team just don't seem to stop. Equalled club record of games unbeaten and won 7 on the bounce. Brilliant stuff.
Come on people of south devon, get yourself up to plainmoor and watch this team.
That bottle of red is going to taste sweet tonight.

Absolutely fantastic.
It just goes to show how far this football club has come since August, let alone since the Bateson era! How many points have we conceded from letting in late goals? I dread to think. The team showed a fantastic spirit to get back and win this game. And as Merse says, to have Ellis bide his time before coming in with a Man of the Match performance and a late winner just reiterates how strong this squad is.
When York equalised, I was disappointed but I would have taken a point at the start of play. A point at a ground whose team haven't lost at home yet would have been a good result and extended the unbeaten run. However, with Histon and Kiddiminster both winning, a point would have also dropped us to fifth in the table. A position that doesn't fairly reflect our recent run.
We were only top of the table for a few seconds, but it felt good. And with a superior goal difference to Burton, who would bet against us returning to the summit come 9:45pm on Tuesday?

Absolutely cracking result, this! I was dreading this one; I thought our run would end and wasn't looking forward to it. But to score a second so soon after conceding is brilliant. As mentioned a lot above, York were unbeaten at home, and our record up there didn't really make good reading to be honest. I'm absolutely delighted we've equalled the club record and I'm very confident that we'll break it on Tuesday! We were never top though today, were we?
