If you can't score one goal, you won't even beat Teign Village bloody Reserves! Not being a the game I am loath to make this comment, but surely we have to have at least one striker with pace playing. Christie's not blessed with it and Sills would get outrun by a tortoise. What a bloody night losing to a bunch of cowboys who have taken the piss for a week and now pissed off laughing with the points................hope their precious bloody coach goes off the cliff on the way home! ......................and please, never again let's have to listen to that buffoon on the radio and the numb skull nodding bloody donkey he had as his "summariser".....................uh, exactly what if ever did he once summarise? We've heard conjecture over whether Herts is nearer Torquay than Jersey, whether it's really raining in Sydney ( I thought the dammned place was on fire!) and been told that the prat's putting his bobble hat on..........................I'm only surprised he didn't give us a minute by minute account of how his dick was shrinking in the cold rather then get on with the job in hand and actually pissing well commentate..................or perhaps that's where he put his bobble hat. What bloody purgatory tonight has been!

What a massive bag of crap that was, can anyone pick out any positives? Sills needs a rocket up his arse in more ways than one, Eyesdown looks like just another poor slow git that can`t score, Pikey had a shocker, Nico was not himself, the Ref and his officials were incredibly bad and Mcfee is a cock!!! AAARRGH

I love looking for positives most of the time, but I don't think there will be any coming from that performance tonight....although between finding out someone was watching from a cupboard in Narnia, finding out the inside leg measurement of the four Exeter scorers, how much snow there hadn't been in Torquay and of course the size of Brett Pilnick's palm (I believe he was the commentator) actually getting some commentary on the football was tough.
Beginning to sound like Merse now so should get some sleep and wake up tomorrow feeling more like myself (no, not feeling myself for all you comedians out there !!)

We got exactly what we deserved from this game.... a big fat zero! Green must be wondering what he did wrong against Coventry, wasn't he our best player that day? His reward, dropped for the next three games.

Woods got the chop this time out. Carlisle getting subbed at half-time was a welcome departure for me. I suspect the same will happen with Sills for Altrincham, with DaveR's favourite getting the nod. The one thing that summariser prat did get right was the need for speed from the bench with 20 to go.

Right - where do I start!?
I've just got back home much earlier than planned courtesy of Beavon's goal - I don't tend to leave matches early but we could carry-on playing until the Altrincham and we wouldn't score. I caught to the last few minutes on Radio Devon on the drive home and I thought they were exceptionally generous with regards to describing our performance (more or less "all Torquay but Weymouth scored at the end of the each half). Don't be fooled if you had to listen to that crap for 90 minutes, the total lack of composure or creation of genuine clear-cut chances made for a very easy night for an mediocre (at best) Weymouth defence.
It was dreadful - really as bad as the Ebbesfleet match although at least Ebbesfleet had more to offer through the side than a drab Weymouth side that was only brightend by the excellent Ryan Williams and the clinical Beavon.
There seemed to be little spirit, another display of no direction. Hargreaves battled in the midfield but since the "long-shot" by Wroe he has done next to nothing - time for a spell on the sidelines. I'm 90% angry with our so-called fans when I hear cat-calls towards Dsane and Carlisle and also 10% bewildered why Wroe doesn't get the same treatment.
The chances that we had were due to perspiration rather than any genuine inspiration. when we saw the arrival of Stevens and Carayol I hoped to see us really test the fullbacks who had received first-half bookings. Carayol took a knock very early and didn't really have much effect other than the odd flash, Stevens at least got some crosses in, whereas Carlisle is playing very much like he did when he arrived (ie like a lost lamb). Having hear Carlisle talk first hand about how he was really finding it hard to take the critisism from our "supporters" vocally during a match and been really hopeful that he might become a decent player, I believe that his rejecting to play league football witha progressive and attractive Exeter on a one year deal to join us simply because of a 2 year deal doesn't mean that he is a "mercenary" you wonder whether he really has his heart in it at Plainmoor.
It was clear that Christie (probably our better player for much of the game) was fading badly and was missing the match-sharpness that you need from a player to mak a real difference. We lacked the cutting-edge tonight - I assumed that Green was injured and Benyon is so far the pecking-order there is little chance of a way back at this club.
I would give the whole team 2 stars (out of 5), other than perhaps 1 for Dsane, Carlisle and Wroe. Even Bevan's kicking was dire tonight (although he made an excellent save to keep us in the game at 0-1). Maybe Hodges and Mansell played OK, but I think that I was too gobsmacked and concentrating on the rest of the totally sub-standard rabble on the pitch.
Time to go back to 4-4-1-1 and put Thompson in the team to support Sills from deep.
The verdict: tonight Weymouth clinical - Torquay comical.
**EDIT** Rob - was Woods dropped or injured?! I assume Ellis must have been injured tonight as well because surely we didn't have a bench of zero defenders or a keeper out of choice?!

Ref Woods: I'm only going from .com saying everyone was fit earlier, ohtobeatplainmoor. Green certainly made the bench, though.

Along the lines of ohtobeatplainmoor.
Thought Christie had a pretty decent debut, other highlights..............................................................?
Weymouth were the better team by a country mile and a good effort by their midget Ryan Williams.
Talking to Mr Kiplings bit on the side on the way back to the car, her comment "Conference Football next season" and on tonights effort who could disagree.

Someone's calling for the return of Leroy on the other site. Your purgatory indeed, merse. Good to hear Mr Kipling has a bit on the side, though. I get the feeling those at the game really don't want to commit what they have just witnessed to writing for a bit. Can't blame you.

I really don't know where to start writing my thoughts on the game, I did say to tufc01 at half time it just seemed a very strange atmosphere inside the ground. I was surprised with the changes made to the team, but I could see what the thinking was from Bucks. Looking to find goals from somewhere he put Christie up front with Sills and dropped Woods for Robertson.
Christie really looked a class act from his very first touch and continued to impress during the first half of the game, he really knows how to turn with the ball, but I did feel he needs someone with pace up front with him, Green would have been perfect to play with him.
Phillips has lost weight and looked very fit and up for the game and on the 5 Min he was racing into the box, but his final touch let him down. Still his work rate and the effort he put in was there for all to see.We never really seemed in to have any control on the game and Carlisle gave the ball away a few time and Wroe was also guilty of doing so far to many times in my view.
Still we had chances in the first half, on 20 Min's a ball was put in from out wide by Mansell, it dropped to Dsane in the middle of the box, who hit it well and pulled of a diving save from the Weymouth keeper.I believe Roberson was in the side to give up more from corners and set pieces, but the balls played in were often to flat and not the quality that was required. He did get one clear header from a ball delivered from a free kick, but fouled the defender to get to the ball.
On 25 Min's the ball was played from out wide to Christie who was on the right hand side on the edge of the box, he turned and hit it first time and he showed he is not afraid to have a go, but the ball went just wide. Just after that he received the ball just outside the box and once again made a really smart turn and seemed to be brought down inside the box, I was not sure from my angle if it was a penalty.
Carlisle seemed to be getting better and made a few good runs beating a few players and on 30 Min's Nico put a ball low ball toward the edge of the box and Carlisle ran onto it and hit a great shot that also just went wide. For me Dsane once again seemed too lazy, often not making the runs into space he need to , so Nico would have other options and also when he found himself on the edge of the box and we lost the ball. he did not want to run back and try and win it back for the team.
A great cross was put in by Mansell on the 40 min mark and Christie was in the middle of the goal and had a free header, but put it well wide, but it must be said he played well during the first half was head and shoulders above anyone else out on the pitch.
Dsane found himself outside of our box and on the right side of the pitch, he lost the ball very cheaply and the ball was played to their over lapping player who put in a good low cross. It seemed to miss everybody but Williams picked it up just inside the box and hit a low and hard shot toward the centre of the goal, Bevan dived down and it seemed to go under his body. Not sure if he could have done better, maybe someone from behind the goal could give their views.
Bucks made the changes for the second half, taking off Dsane and Carlisle and bringing on Stevens and Carayol, Stevens looked good when he first came on and made some good runs and got some good balls into the box. Carayol also looked good for a short while, but soon he was up to his old tricks of trying to many step overs and some of the balls he did put in were very poor.Danny put one good ball in that was missed by everyone and then fell to Nico on the 12 Min's mark, but Nico's shot was held by the keeper.
On 15 mis the Weymouth keeper was in danger of carrying the ball outside the box and had to drop it, the ball was played back into the box and a shout went up for hand ball inside the Weymouth box, I think the players was just too close for the ref to give it.
Stevens was now not beating his man so well but did get a good ball into Christie on the edge of the box, he moved the ball so well to make space for his shot but the defender just got a slight block on the shot and it was deflected wide.On the half hour Sills had a good chance to score but header the ball over the bar.
Then Wroe gave the ball away badly and it was picked up by the Weymouth no 14, he was 35 yards out and hit a great shot that was dipping under the bar until Bevan was able to push it over. With time running out Bucks moved Robertson more forward and then we were open to the counter attack, it was also clear with 2o Min's to go that Christie was worn out and Green should have come on at this stage as Christie was offering less and less.
We got caught out on a counter attack on the 90 Min's mark, Williams a player I really like ran toward the goal played the ball into Beavon who let it roll to the player behind him who then layed back in to the path of Beavon who really put the ball in the net so well.
Not going to give my views on the team until tomorrow, I really need to sleep on it.
