I'm a harsh man, but I'd drop Woods for Robertson. Robbo played well at Lewes and Woods played badly in the game after he was dropped back to the bench.

I can't see Buckle going for your suggestion of playing Green on the left or right wing, Dave. I wouldn't be happy if Dsane were dropped for that experiment, and I am beginning to believe Carlisle plays if fit, regardless of form.

Barrow have only lost one more at home than we have, so are no push-overs. Head says draw. Heart says we'll thrash them within an inch of their lives.

Though I understand he has installed a hotline to Phuket and has told the squad in no uncertain terms that Barrow should be sent packing back to their Pub having endured a comprehensive thrashing.

I'm not sure if I should even contemplate going to this one. 6 hours by car, 4 and bit by train. Does anybody know if its under snow up there?

A combination of severely worsening conditions in the Lake District and the trouble TUFC were having leaving the South Devon area.

I will wait with interest the members views, after hearing the news that TUFC have a day before the game was due to be played, taken the decision not to travel. We do not know if the pitch will be playable on Saturday and the word is that it is hoped to have all the roads near Exeter open by lunch time today. So the team should have been able to set out after lunch, but the real question is, just how safe will it be on the roads.

Weymouth did not travel on road safely advice, not it seems TUFC has taken the same action and so they should, its only a football match after all

There is a world of difference between events surrounding tomorrow's match and Tuesday's.

I have phoned Barrow FC myself and they say that as things stand now the pitch is not playable due to frost and that the anticipated weather would not allow a chance for it to recover in time for tomorrow. Yesterday it was a different story with no anticipated freeze in the area.

On Tuesday, the pitch at Plainmoor was perfectly playable and Weymouth had both an alternative road route as well as a rail option to get themselves to South Devon but at two o'clock in the afternoon (just four hours before they should have been checking in at Plainmoor they were still sat on their arses in Dorset.

There was nothing like the depth of snow or subsequent road chaos on Tuesday that there is right now in South Devon over the period from last night to the current time.

Weather forecasts are as the word says...................they only forecast what will happen not determine the outcome - any fool knows that.

Both Barrow FC and Torquay United have grasped the nettle early enough to make a sensible decision that would probably have been made for them anyway tomorrow. I stress probably because that probability is only drawn from the weather forecast.

Based on all forecasts and road reports OUR party had still intended to set off from London at 2pm today and it was the early news drawn from weather forecasts and prevailing travel conditions in the South West (nowhere else, take note) that ended our plans. I had managed to persuade our overnight hotel at Brighouse to extend our 100% refund of costs to 4pm in the circumstances and had the United party set off today, we would also have done so at our pre-arranged time and would have then had to take it on the nose without whingeing if in the event the game had fallen to the conditions tomorrow. That's life and we are all old and ugly enough to take that FACT on board as adults.................it could have been a great day out without being ruined by ninety minutes of football for once!

Fortunately, not having to traverse the South West peninsula; we would not have had to endure the awful conditions down there and as it happens ther is NO snow in Brighouse so I was told by the hotel management.

Anyway, I'm going to make the best of a bad job and try to earn a few bob this afternoon to add to the money I've saved, I only hope I don't get sent down to Devon!
