Agree with comments that today's performance and the pressure we exerted on a Championship team were really excellent, and it's hard to believe that we didn't win the match. At the end of the day, it all comes down to missed or spurned chances, and.......
WE JUST DON'T HAVE A NATURAL AND PROVEN GOALSCORER AND WE REALLY DO NEED TO SIGN ONE !!!!!

Sills is proven, but he hasn't scored since he's been partnering Green I don't think. Sounds like we were robbed today, but listening in I had that same feeling of inevitability DaveR had after spurning so many chances. Shame. And I'm fairly certain Coventry will now get a big side to rub it in. It was great while it lasted and we've had some exposure and wedge from our run, but it's off to Lewes for 3 points to close in on Burton who only drew today. Crawley and Kiddy losing was no bad thing for us either.

Again we didn't win when we could and should have won it. Sure, the players did put in a magnificint performance but it's time we learned how to kill games off and win them. Because that's what it's all about, winning games.
This performance must give the players another boost that will hopefully help them in the following games to come.
The next game is in such contrast to todays game, away to Lewes at the Dripping Pan with a attendence of around 1,000? One advice, put the ball in the net!
Come on you Yellows!

The goals will come again and very soon, you get days when nothing goes in no matter how hard you try, we should be more concerned if we were not creating chances.

Hope you are correct Dave but I have my doubts unless we get a striker in during the window Phillips and Zeb scored over 30 gulls between them last season and there is no way that the existing strikers will get anywhere near this total

Mike I hope I'm right as well ;D I can't see any players being brought in now and we may just have to rely on what we have got now, maybe a few days just spent on shooting practice, may be the order of the day.

Absolutely gutted as we all are I guess but what a magnificent effort form our boys. We just didnt deserve that on 87 minutes but as you say its missed chances that have done us and is a cause for concern as we just ain't converting enough chances -something that could cost us dearly on the run in. The sharp end of the League, top spot apart is looking so tight with many teams coming up on the rails including Stevenage and Oxford who a few short weeks a go were in turmoil. Kettering have 7 games in hand on Stevenage and three on us and remember that Exeter were well behind the chase at this stage last season. Some interesting matches on Tuesday and I just hope the lads are not to deflated and take it out on Lewes. Extremely proud of our boys today.

We should be proud Pete,we could have left the ground today after getting thumped four nil and we would have been saying, well we were playing a championship side, instead we left felling robbed after having the best part of the game, just failing to get the one thing that wins any game in the end, that goal that just would not come.

Yes proud indeed and after such rare matches you tend to think that the club woud win over plenty of new support from such drama and entertainment but for whatever reason in never seems to materialise. I suppose it does suggest though that as a successful League club would attract reasonable gates, though success on the pitch is the bottom line for a large majority. One question. Who was the minutes silence for? I didn't catch any anouncment on the Tannoy.

I left thinking the same, how many of the extra fans would we see at the next home game,it was clear that we had sold most of our own tickets and not that many getting in the hands of Coventry ones.
I would think we will just see our now normal 2000+. I do not think anything was given out by the announcer, as it looked as if the Coventry players were just getting into place to start the match and then seemed to be told there was going to be a minutes silence.

After playing 7 out of our last eight games at home, only 3 out of our next 10 matches are at home, with only the Altrinham game on 14 Feb actually on a Saturday. I would hope that this, coupled with the fine display today will contribute towards at least some sort of increase in the forthcoming attendances. Our run in this competition has shown that we can compete in one off high pressure matches and should bode well for the play offs if that is where we end up.

Proud of the lads performance today ... but we DO need to sign another striker ... someone who knows where the back of the net is!
I really hope the board back Bucks, as I am pretty sure he feels the same way too - our play off hopes may well ride on it.

Bevon scored another 2 today. that's 4 in 2 games. what has happened here? we have plenty of cash now. probably more than Bournemouth who were linked with him
