Thanks for you report Chris
Does seem that Wayne Carlisle, really did have a bad day at the office. Lets hope he gets his game back on track, because I feel he does have a lot to offer.
Good to hear that fans were not ripped of for parking, in this day and age where it is get all you can, its refreshing.

i may have been a little harsh, but for me he was the stand out disaster today. he did get into some good positions, but the product just wasn't there. However given his pedigree, and his endeavor I fully expect him to come good. Many thanks for the report Adam. It seems as though Carlisle played similar to his game against Chelsea, I remember thinking I had been harsh on him that day too, but your comments on him today seem very familiar. He is a good player and I am sure his form will come when it does I hope he can maintain some consistency. Micky we will be getting some more match reports on here. I think today is a lesson for those of us who listen to a game on the radio, as we really can't coment on the game. I do not share your views on the back four, I think Todd,Hodges and Mansell, should all do a good job there for us. Still do not think hargreaves is a CB, and just wonder, if Ellis should be starting. I know he has made mistakes, but Sean told me he is highly rated by the club. If not then we must hope that Brough can get his game together, I would have preferred to see Green start, but share your views that Buckle wants to gee him up. Dave, I agree we have good players within the squad that can play in defence. I have been extremely impressed with hodges defensive displays so far this season. My point was as a collective unit, there are holes in our back 4 and while these holes are apparent we will concede goals. As nobody can seem to agree on the best 2 CH to play from our squad, then I don't think I'm going too far suggesting we do not have the strongest defensive unit in the division

Well Micky I suppose Paul Buckle must share your feelings really, as why else was he trying to get in a new center back. It does look like we will have to play with what we have got.
So who do you think would be best played together at the back. I would go with Woods and Todd, I know many will not agree, but they have the experience between them.
Mind you, I had hoped Robertson, may have been given a chance, I feel he is better than some think he is.

Dave, you'll be pleased to learn that I took about 100 pics at the game today - hidden amongst the Yellow Army!! ;D ;D Will sift through them and post a couple on this thread in the next 24-48 hours. In the meantime, do you want to have a look at the matchday programme??

The simple answer is NO. The reason being ( and I explained this to Anthony today) was that Merse sat in the Main Stand for a "better" side-on view of the match. I did ask Anthony if he was going back to the pub after the game as I was going to introduce them to each other there - but unfortunately, I got a bit involved on the photo side of things, so didn't get back to the pub myself for a good 1/2 hour or so. IF Anthony did go to the pub, by the time I walked in, he was long gone. Merse and a handful of other CG's were still there discussing the game however.

Anthony Is not a pub person, so I don't think he would have gone, not sure where he is staying, might be in London as he is watching the Charity Shield game tomorrow. At least he got to see your friendly face Kev

Well I will stick my neck on the chopping block with you and agree that I would go for Woods and Todd too, at least to start the season, they have the experience, and know each other enough to form the basis of a good defensive unit, then maybe bleed Ellis into the team gradually.
