There is a glaring ommission in the "line up" at Plainmoor and it is that of Club President.I can think of no finer nominee for the role of Honoury President than Frank O'Farrell and would like to start a debate on the merits of him receiving this honour from the club where he is held in such high esteem.........................what do others think?

It would be an entirely opportune time to fill the position of club president and I can think of no other candidate than Frank O'Farrell.
I'm not entirely sure of the history of the position. I'm pretty sure that ex-chairman Arthur Milner held the post for many years as did Tony Boyce after his tenure at the helm ended.

This is an excellent idea. And O'Farrell is indeed the only worthy candidate. A man of integrity and not tarnished in any way. Lets hope Merse has kicked off a groundswell of support that will influence the club.

Merse and I had this conversation at The Green Man. I was enthusing about the success of the Legends Night and Merse was pleased to hear that Frank O’Farrell is fit and well and as sharp as ever and said to me what a brilliant club president he would make.
I believe that the role of president has been vacant since Tony Boyce passed away. It has been right and proper to leave the role vacant for a decent period. It feels fitting that we won promotion back to the Football League with Tony’s name still at the top. He led us through the Golden Years and then worked tirelessly to keep our heads above water. At an age when he should have been sitting down with his feet up, he then became the driving force behind putting together a group of men who could salvage our club from the wreckage of 2006/07. I’m sure there were many at Wembley on Sunday who thought “This one’s for Tony”. It’s a shame he never saw us back where we belong, but at least he did get to see us turn the corner and start heading in the right direction.
The title of president is not one to be handed out glibly. Tony Boyce is a hard act to follow. If we had nobody of the right calibre, I would rather see the position left vacant than hand it out to someone inappropriate.
As Merse says, Frank would be perfect. He is intelligent, articulate and dignified. He loves the club and has a real sense of the club’s history and spirit. He is well respected by the fans and by the Board and indeed throughout the football world. More importantly, he has respect for the club’s fans – he actually thanked US at the Legends Night - and clearly appreciates the way the club is now being run. You could not find a more worthy successor to Tony Boyce.
Frank for president! You know it makes sense.

Agree with you on this one Merse. If the Club want to fill the position and Frank would be willing to accept - bring it on!

I can think of no finer nominee for the role of Honoury President than Frank O'Farrell I heartily agree, if he would accept. Who's best placed to check that out - and is there a due process, or is this at the whim of the Board?
