Spare a thought for the gentle giant who played a hugh part in getting us to the playoffs. Scotty Bevan, without him I wonder if the big day would have even been possible. Any chance Mr Rice would donate his medel for sitting on the bench. Here's hoping he will be fully fit and able to carry us throughout next season.
Well done to the gentle giant, a great season.

Agree with you 100% Graygull, great post, I'm sure a lot of people really felt for Scotty, getting us this far and then missing out on the last few matches through injury. Sure that Scotty did get a medal on the day! Well done Scotty and look forward to seeing you at another TUST Junior Question & Answer Session next season!

Sure that Scotty did get a medal on the day! Everybody got one , but the funniest sight for me as they all paraded around Wembley showing them off was that of Iseden Christie with one of those stupid yellow tee shirts pulled tightly over his tracksuit as tight as shrink wrap......................I bet they had to cut it off afterwards!

We had a little chat with him at the McDonalds long after the game. A very friendly guy I must say. He was in a good mood and looking forward to next season! If he can produce the same form as in this season we'll be allright!

Don't worry about whether he can replicate the form Ospelgull - Bevan is a first class keeper for this level!
I think that it was so fortunate that we had a keeper the calibre of Poke to call upon as "back-up" when we did. Last season I think we really suffered with our keeper situation. I was slightly concerned when Rayner came back a couple of weeks late from Canada and when he finally did, he was clearly overweight. It obviously didn't go-down well with Rayner that he wasn't given his place for the Yeovil FA Cup match (to say the least!) and that more or less cost him his TUFC career as he went off to Boston and was replaced by Poke. It's impossible to know what difference Poke would have made if we had been able to keep him for the remainder of the season in 07/08.
Bevan's arrival co-incided with us being much tighter at the back. His dominance in the area was unprecedented for me as a TUFC supporter since the 80's- he can get the ball when it is three feet higher than anyone else can jump! He's also pulled-off some great saves and also he seems to fit-in exactly with what Bucks is trying to achieve with this squad. Given that some keepers from a higher level might have felt agrieved to spend an entire season on loan a few rungs down but spend the second half on the sidelines, it was great that we had Poke still training with us and able to come-in and make a fantastic replacement while Bevan was out.
Rice is staying next season - I'm pretty sure that won't be a shock given his attitude to training and being receptive to playing at Truro City all last season. Bevan is easily good enough for a compeitive team in League 2 and I would also say League 1.

this is a good post in the sense of bevan and what he has done for the team.
then spoilt by dragging poor old martin rice into it ,not his fault bevan got injured and had he been called upon sure he would have done his best .
i am failing to see how he was the forgotten man ,like i say nobodys fault he got injured ,and like sturrock and eyesdown christie he was taken to wembley with the entire squad .
had he been forgotten surely would have been left behind, and as already said everyone got a medal.

The fact that Michael Poke was quite happy to remain available to us and ultimately produced a vital match winning save in the final is surely a huge testament to the real goings on in our club. Whatever some may want to think with regard to PB the players look as happy and determined a bunch as you could ever wish to see. The management are obviously doing it the right way and man management is just as important a part of success on and off the field as any other management skill. When lines are drawn and players know the rules, success will follow and Paul Buckle has never shown any sign of shirking that resposibility and dealt with Rayner Dsane Woods etc as he saw fit for beterment of the club. One other name should also be mentioned Mark Ellis a fogotten man and I cant remember seeing him on Sunday. Always played with commitment and determination whenever called upon and played his part.. Well done Mark.

Picture in our local paper on Monday of Christie receiving his medal, as he used to play for Kettering.
Steve Woods is also in the picture.

Well done Mark. Yes he was there. On the pitch with the others at the end. Unlike Christie, i didn't see him with one of those Yellow t-shirts on though.

Ellis went back to the tunnel to get his tee-shirt but the photo call started so he turned around and headed back to the celebrations. Looked a little lost at times walking around in a black track suit. I hope he stays.
