I've been wondering what affect our promotion will have on our cash flow and budget projections. The return of away fans to our home games will boost the coffers as will the extra Gulls attending (hopefully). Then there's the return of the youth team funding? Share of the league pool? Sponsorship? Actually, will not being on tv so much affect this?
I think what i'm getting at is will we have more money to spend on the team?

Ah, thanks kev. A sizeable chunk of change then. Should be an interesting couple of months seeing where he spends it.

I really think its wonderfull the club will be getting £600.000 for regaining its league status and for me it shows just how important 90 minutes were at Wembley on Sunday.
Looking at the amounts, are we getting all the money from the league pool because we were only away for two seasons? I always believed when you went up into division two, you only got half for the first year.
Its also really great news that the club will be getting a £180.000 grant boost for the youth scheme, that I believe is more than what they would have got from the sponsor last season and it means the club can keep it going with ease and not be struggling to try and find ways to fund it.
Even Frank Prince must be smiling as he will see £24.000 for the football in the community he runs. I'm sure he will put that money to very good use and its always a joy to see him at the ground with all the school children, our fans of the future?
I think we all know that staying in the BSP would have seen smaller gates and things maybe getting a bit stretched in the finance department and making getting out even harder than it was this season.
I would now hope we see those extra fans back at plainmoor, there is no excuse now, we are a proper league club and as such the people of Torbay need to show that the Bay having a league club is very important.
I'm sure our wise board will use the money well and will fund the team where it is needed, I see no reason why we can't expect to finish in a good mid table place next season.
I do think after all the very hard work to rebuild the club and get it back into the league, the board will do everything possible to make sure our club never goes down again and back into non-league football.

While I would love us to do an Exeter and go up again next season, I do think building the way we are and at the pace we are is the best way forward. Lets not start getting expectations up far to high before we have even kicked a ball in division two, I would be more than happy to have a reasonable season and one that sees us cement our place back in the league. We can then push on from there the next season, part of the reason the gates were lower this season was expectations getting far to high in our first season in the BSP. That season then ended in tears and as a result it cost the club fans paying at the gate.
