Buckle got lucky this season. He handled probally the most important game of Torquays life spot on - He was appointed manager of a club going down the dustpipe with three players - within two years he gets us promoted - wish I could be as 'lucky' as he is. Great to meet so many faces at the Green Man; Merse (sorry can't remember our previous meet), Merse Junior,Capitol, Urban Spaceman, Romford Kev, Aussie et all. What a great venue for a prematch beer - well done to who ever organised it.

The first thing i want to say is that i'm delighted we're back where we belong. Buckle got lucky this season. Despite his attempts to mess it up the team still made the playoffs. A good manager would have won that poxy league with the team and resources that he had available. However, the last 2 weeks have highlighted a side to buckle that is encouraging. His approach to this game has been flawless and i would have said the same if we'd lost. He got his tactics right and ultimately the record will show that we are promoted. Fantastic, but now we will see what buckle is truely made of. Nowhere to hide now, no crap teams to play that paper over the cracks. His recruitment and retained list will give us a clue. Hi. Tell me to eff off if you like, but i can't resist asking you after reading your negative post, - why do you bother supporting The Gulls? You say that Buckle should have "won this poxy league" with the resources he had. ? Sorry but that's drivel . What about the likes of Rushden who started the season with a massive wage budget , having poached the likes of Daryl Clare from us (Burton -league champions).? By the time the transfer window arrived Rushden hadn't got the points and were forced to release nine or ten players. Throwing money at winning a league, especailly at this level, is suicide. Look at the other teams in the "poxy league". Big big clubs that shouldn't be there and are finding it hard to get out. It's a tough league that offers excellent football. Many players have moved in to the league over recent years & settled in comfortably. A poxy league it ain't, and as Chris Wilder learnt recently, it's very disrespectful to say that it is. I for one am proud of my club for winning the league. I would also suspect that 99% of Torquay fans are proud of their team too.

Don't worry porky. He's the village idiot and his posts are read by most with that in mind.

There is a minority of those in Burton. ::)We've just appointed Paul Peschisolido as gaffer & one idiot is slagging him off before he's even signed a player ! Incredible...

99.99999% mate, try not to bite too much, you start to get used to Dave Shaw after a while! We`ve all tried to get him to see sense, but it would appear he just can`t bring himself to do anything other than HATE Paul Buckle. If that`s how he feels then that is how he feels and there ain`t a lot any of us can do, believe me we have tried!

Yep, that's "dave the shaw gull". We are all delighted to be back in the League. We have a very successful young Manager at the helm and will hope to keep hold of him. If Tisdale leaves Exeter, I am sure there will be some concern. You seem like a nice chap, porky. Don't suppose we can have 6 points again next season.

Rob I got shot down when I said this before but I will say it again. I firmly believe if we had played Burton before Nigel had left, we might not have got three points let alone six. I think we played them at just the right time for us and the wrong time for them.

Thanks for the compliments, but I'm afraid the six points are coming to the northerners Seriously, good luck for next season. Let's hope both our teams avoid the drop and stabilise in league 2 . Who knows, we may do an Exeter? Here's hoping

I would like to see both teams have good seasons in League 2. I think we will.

I would like to see both teams have good seasons in League 2. I think we will. We're greatfull to Roy but it has to be said he made some bizarre decisions in his time here . He left Greg Pearson, our top scorer, on the bench most of the time, if he was picked at all that is. Granted, Greg is not the most skillful striker in the league, but he knows where the net is. He played Darren Stride, our captain, up front as a striker. Now Darren is a super player, in the same mould as Hargreaves, but a striker, he ain't. He will win headers all day long though and I think that's probably what Roy had in mind as we soon started to play the hoof ball. All behind us now though. We have a new manager and a new era is about to begin - can't wait. We've some super pre-season friendlies to look forward to,- Derby, twice, Notts Forest and Birmingham City. Finished off with a glamorous trip to ..... ..... Altrincham !! ;D ;D
