I know it's been mentioned before that there are some major closures at the weekend, but forewarned is forearmed - so here is a link to the Transport for London map showing all closures. You'll see, as I think Merse mentioned, that you can get out from central London on the Metropolitan line (but not the Jubilee). In the centre, the Circle line is down, but there are other lines covering much of its length. For those parking at Ickenham or Hillingdon, the Piccadilly is working to get you onto the Metropolitan and onto Wembley Park. www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/emails/worksandclosures/Map_A4_16_17MAY.pdfHappy wandering!

Cheers EG. I hadn't even thought about this.
I'll be coming from Wimbledon. Is the best way to do this Wimbledon - Waterloo overground and then the Jubilee Line from Waterloo to Wembley Park?
EDIT: Scrap that, the Jubilee Line is down. Hmm...
EDIT 2: Bakerloo Line I guess!

Metro line skips lots of stops.

Bakerloo to Wembley Central is an option - but then you don't get to walk down Wembley Way (but it is closer for the Green Man Hotel where the Capital Gulls & many others will be meeting again before the game)

Bakerloo Line from Waterloo to Baker Street (surely the Waterstreet Line when going that way?) and then the Metropolitan Line from Baker Street to Wembley Park. I have no idea why my Torquay United 2009 diary has a tube map in the back, but it's most helpful.
