I have not heard that Bevan would not be fit for the final so if he has recovered from his injury, who would you prefer in goal?
I do think we are very lucky having two very good keepers at the club and no matter who gets the shirt I'm sure we have no worries. As fans who want to make sure we win this game the answer must be the one who will give us the best chance of winning.
While I would feel that Bevan has played his part during the season for the team and therefore should be the first choice if fit, it will I believe come down to who Bucks feels is the better goalkeeper.
For me Bevan would just shade it and I think on the whole he does somethings just that little bit better than Poke, it really is not an easy decision in my view and I hope we do not see a goal keeping error cost us the game as it could well be used as a stick to beat Buckle with.
As I said winning the game is the only important thing and we will have to trust 100% that Bucks goes with the one he firmly believes will be the man for the occasion, it can't be a time for sentiment or who may or may not deserve to be in goal.

I reckon Poke will start, perhaps not quite as dominant on high balls but very assured handling and very good positional sense. A football league keeper without a doubt.
Bevan has been a brilliant signing and has on the whole been pretty consistent but does have a tendency to have the odd "bad one". Sentiment will not play a part as the stakes are far to high and Buckle could go for either. They both deserve the chance but if there is a risk that Bevs isn't 100% he has to go for Poke. Happy with either personally.

Nah seriously. I would go with Bevan. He's played 43 games this season and has been Buckles No1 choice. I feel Cambridge will be a big threat from set peices and Bevan just gives that feel of calm on high balls. Poke is a great keeper for this level (we all wanted him tied on a long loan didn't we) but in the semi final games he was luck to get away with some hesitant decisions on corners a balls in the box. He seems to get stuck under the flight of the ball and he did punch a few in the Histon games some not so good. Kicking is on a par IMHO a bit erratic and shot stopping the same. We have seen some outstandind stops from both this year. But Bevan for me. and if it's 6-0 @ht (to us) bring on Poke

Bevan for me. He's played (almost) all season and if he's fit for sunday he should start. If not fit we'll have a brilliant back-up in Michael Poke!

Bevan for me too, love seeing the big blue jersey rise up out of a crowd of players. He's played most of the season but to be honest I wouldnt be worried to see Poke in goal either, they are both great.

I see Bevan has got a late fitness test later this week Hopefully no chances will be taken for this match unlike certain other games this season.

I see Bevan has got a late fitness test later this week Hopefully no chances will be taken for this match unlike certain other games this season. My understanding is Bucks has made up his mind who will be in goal and Kenny fully agrees and I firmly believe it will be Poke who has the task of trying to keep a clean sheet, or at least not let in as many as the guy up the other end

Isn't it great to be faced with such a dilemma.
When you think back over the last few years, had we had these 2 then we might not be where we are now ...
I'll be confident with either on the pitch and the other on the bench.
I think Bevan had done so much over the season he deserves it, if 100% fit. I also think that, looking back in ten years time, Poke will have gone onto better things.
Happy Days!

I would say we have as good a pair of keepers as any club in the BSP, if not THE best. Who would others consider even on a par with The Bevanator of Pokey? I would reckon Chris Day at Stevenage to run them close, but then Borough's no 2 keeper is Ashley Bayes who is well past his sell by date although he brings experience to the role and more importantly onto the training ground during the week. I always thought goalkeeper was Burton's Achilles' Heel to be honest and the much vaunted Adam Bartlett at Kidderminster to be too short to rank up there above our guys. Cambridge's Danny Potter has finally turned into a really good keeper although a little prone to getting stranded by the cross that is pulled back to the penalty spot, and for the life of me Cambridge's second string keeper's identity is a mystery to me and I hope it stays that way after Sunday! I wouldn't say Histon's Danny Naisbett is as good as they reckon him to be either, but I DO like the guy at Ebbsfleet; Lance Cronin isn't it? and Lee Harper impressed me up at Kettering when we visited them. No, I reckon bucks got it pretty right when he decided to add Scott Bevan to our squad earlier this season ans how ironic that both he and Michael Poke are former club mates and began their careers together at Southampton!

Completely agree. Which is why, I'm sure, whichever name is read to us over the tannoy at 15.55 on Sunday will be met with confident applause.

Got to be Michael Poke for me, as he has done nothing wrong over the past few weeks and there is no point in taking any sort of risk (when it isnt necessary) on the fitness of Scott Bevan. That said, I would hope that Scott is fit enough to take up his place on the bench on Sunday, as that is the very least he deserves.
