Lets just hope it's not a repeat of the Colchester play off final when a crowd of little over 19,000 turned up with roughly 6000 from Torquay.
Crap game, crap atmosphere and crap result

Midlands - that's £55 for the West Indies Test only - the prices are nearer the £90 mark in certain areas for the Ashes match later in the year...I'm DEFINITELY not going to that one!!!
The guys I go with to some of the away tours are going to Edgbaston this year, and they were telling me they are peed off at having to splash out £75 for Ashes tickets there this year in a ground that is falling to pieces!!

No Rob it has nothing to do with who you mentioned, I'm the first who will give credit where its due.
It was you asking if the forum had let itself down, while I would love a happy clapping were going to Wembley thread, the forum has fulfilled its aim on this thread, by allowing sensible adults to air their views in full on the ticket arrangements.
As you would expect I will always defend the forum and even more so when I have good reason to do, due to any remark being made that is not really reflecting the real situation.

I realise this is off-subject and I'm hoping Merse has taken his Prozac and will be there with us ... but -
1. Brad Pitt - if I had to... I'd choose him. But I'd have fight the moosus off first! 2. £90 - robbing gits! Wonder how much the beer will be? It's nice when you can get a pint of Red Stripe squirted into a plastic pint glass for £3, I can cope with that. 'Specially when I paid £3.80 for a pint of (and i'm not sure it was) Wifebeater in that crap-hole MK. But; a trip to the Edgbaston bogs is a journey into the dark ages or similar to a trip to Aggborough lavs That's without trying to negotiate a parking space for a tenner within 10 square miles of the ground! Luckily I know a few free residential spots I can sneak in.

I can see Rob's point - it does seem to be a bit of a whingefest here, doesn't it?
We're 90 minutes from realising our dreams - that's got to be exciting hasn't it?
I was told at the Histon home game that the ticketing would be taken out of the club's hands. My comment then was that this rampant commercialisation of the "Wembley experience" was against my principles, but I'd compromise my principles to get Torquay back in the League. I still feel that way.
£30 doesn't sound too bad to me - probably what I was expecting. The cost of getting there is because we live where we live. That's life. The one thing I think is inexcusable is that you have no say whatsoever where you sit. It doesn't seem to be much of an incentive to book early.
Money from the play-offs should be pooled. It wouldn't be fair if we bagged more money than Burton, would it? We get to keep all the commercial spin-offs. We used to benefit from pooling in the League as a smaller club, and one of the changes for the worse in modern times is less and less pooling - letting the rich get richer and reducing competitiveness. It works against us now as a "big club" - the answer to that is to get promoted, isn't it?
All this rubbishing of Histon (anagram of Shiton - ha ha ha), Forest Green and Weymouth is utterly ridiculous and sounds so arrogant. We should have more class than that.
Remember that two years ago, big League clubs were subsidising a club that could afford to send its Chairman and his hangers-on to Dubai, but couldn't even fill a bench or pay the electricity bill.
As for Weymouth's predicament, I'm sure Mr Calder isn't the only Chief Executive to take advantage of a weak ineffectual Chairman to write his own contract.
Let us show some dignity in this league that we are in because we deserve to be in it, and let's hope that the "big clubs" won't be so pompous and arrogant as to look down their noses at us when we move up to join them - hopefully sooner rather than later.
One last word for DaveR. Don't get so jumpy mate! Rob is perfectly right to point out when someone has done a good job. The efforts to make sure the drummer was at Histon had an effect - possibly a decisive one - on that game. So yes - hats off to all involved. Saying someone has done well is not saying that they are a nicer person than Uncle Dave or saying they can run a forum as well as Uncle Dave. But credit where credit is due.

Jon I must say I'm a bit disappointed that you felt the need to make the remarks you did to me, you make it sound like I'm involved in some sort of personality contest.
You should know me well enough by now and the fact that I only care for the good name of this forum. Forgive me for not getting to excited about what one person may have done or is doing, I remember all too well the problems this forum had to deal with in its early days and just like Jim's elephants I don't forget.

I'm sorry if I've spoken out of turn but it did seem to me that you were jumping down Rob's throat, and it looks like he felt the same way. Sometimes you can read something into the tone of a post that wasn't intended. The most important thing is: COME ON YOU YELLOWS!

What a load of moaning old duffers you lot are sometimes! ;D We make it to the playoff final and all you can do is moan. This is our chance to get out of this godforsaken league and avoid playing awful teams like Histon next year. Do you think any of us wants to be ripped off at every turn? Of course not. Just bite the bullet and do this one last thing that just may help our club. We need to get as many people there as possible! You have all summer to moan to your hearts content about it and let's face it, the money you save from your season ticket will pay for it!! Let's stop all this nonsense and just get positive. We should be discussing the game, not the seating plans!! p.s If you go to the Green Man pub before the game, a burger and a pint will cost less than half what you pay in the ground. Just a thought....
