Ours arrived this morning first class post.
Amazingly in Block 225 which is near to half way line, however, initial excitement changed when I realised four of us are together then a gap and two more together.
Perhaps I should be grateful we are in the same row and also in the Torquay end!
I wonder if this lot are organising the Cup Final, they will probably put the 'prawn sandwich' brigade with the football supporters, now that I would love to see!
Anyway the most important thing is that we are there and let's get behind the team like at Histon.

....I'll admit i was one of the group that got fleeced for an extra £5.95 for "6 days later special delivery". Apparently mine arrived sometime after lunch today a fair bit later than it would have if i'd gone for normal 1st class delivery . The wife was of course, out having her hair done , so its off to the jolly old post office for me sometime tomorrow, if i can get away from work. Great....

> ; ABSOLUTELY FECKIN FUMING!!Mine arrived this morning too, block 111 row 35, 4 tickets which are not next to each other, 12 seats will separate us all I'm sorry your tickets have got cocked up and you have to ask why a simple job of putting four tickets in an envelope to the same person, goes so wrong. I hope at least you will now see why so many posted their concerns on this thread, you did come in having a little rant about the views being posted It is always going to happen when you you are not given the opportunity to purchase the seats you want, just being given two prices to choose from was doomed to failure. The fact that the club now has for sale tickets and you are now able to pick your seats, means someone at least have put their hand up and said they got it wrong. I would expect the club has been on the phone nonstop trying to make it easier for the fans to get tickets and more importantly ones they want.I said earlier in the thread that this ticket farce was distracting from what fans should be concentrating on and sadly it has proved th be the case. I would expect you will stand a good chance of being able to swap your seats once in your block, you can bet you will not be alone with this problem and others may also be looking to sit next to the person they traveled to the game with. The best that can be hoped for is lessons are learned by those who run such events, fans need to be put first and foremost, it must be made so they can get tickets without a fuss and buy seats where they will be sitting with the family and friends and not have to chance it all to luck It never was a problem in the past, yes I know I'm talking about the days before you could order on line, but you would think that in this day and age that really should make things better and easier than having to que for hours outside the club shop. Its happened and now we do need to move on and start getting our minds in match mode, start thinking about the most important part of all, our team, our club, who we hope and pray will do a top professional job on the pitch and take us back into the football league.

In forty years, Exeter City have effectively turned around their average support in relation to ourselves. In the 68-69 era we were pulling gates that averaged around the seven to eight thousand mark whilst City (floundering at the bottom of Div four) often saw their's drop below three thousand which was a bit of a rarity in those days for League football. It didn't take them forty Years Merse! Torquay's peak corresponded with Exeter's trough in 1967/68 - 9,096 average to us and 3,855 to them. Our first season back in the same division in 1972/73 saw us average 3,300 and them 4,956. That is a far more typical comparison. We never came near them for average attendances until the great 1956/57 season. We have only ever topped their attendances when we have far outstripped them on the pitch. The idea that we always used to have support similar to or larger than City's is a myth not a reality. The late sixties were a one-off when everything came together for us.

The idea that we always used to have support similar to or larger than City's is a myth not a reality. The late sixties were a one-off when everything came together for us. If we ever "lorded" it over Exeter City, I guess 1966-72 was the time. Whilst we were doing well in Division 3, City were decidedly average in Division 4 over those six seasons: 14th, 20th, 17th, 18th, 9th and 15th. Our best season during that spell - 1967/68 -just happened to be their worst. No wonder that, as a teenage supporter, City were barely on my radar. Beyond that, as Jon points out, Exeter's crowds have generally been larger than ours. In their relegation season - 2002/03 - the difference was around 20% (600 fans) which, I would have thought, was pretty typical. After relegation their crowds held up which, given the relative performance of the two clubs on the field, suggested to me that City are the better-supported club by a little more than I'd suspected. There's a lot been said about their low ebb prior to the Manchester United games but I see that, just before the 2nd round game that season, City had a crowd of 3,500 against Leigh RMI (when 13th in the table). But making Wembley comparisons is a bit more difficult because that first time - 2007 - was Exeter's first-ever Wembley trip and it was the year the new stadium finally opened. However, to retain two-thirds of the following the next time, was pretty impressive. As Merse suggests, the demographic and economic profiles of Torbay and Exeter are quite different. In terms of population Exeter (122,400) is bigger than Torquay but smaller than Torbay (134,200). But that only tells part of the picture. Age distribution is one factor and Exeter also has a bigger hinterland than Torquay. We've debated the extent of our support from the arc that extends from Kingsbridge, through Totnes, Ashburton and around to the coast at Teignmouth and Dawlish. City, by comparison, can pull people in from Okehampton, across to Crediton and Tiverton and as far over as Seaton. Within that area, Exmouth is one of Devon's largest towns. I also sense there's more of an affulent middle-class professional community in the Exeter area which, if it's intersted in football, is given more to occasional than regular attendance (they're busy people, you know, with diverse interests). Amongst this group, four or five visits each season all helps and - of course - they probably went to Wembley.

Dave, I'll think you'll find my initial "rant" was about people saying that after supporting their team all season, they were then not going to see it through to the end because of the money and ticketing options. That was what got my goat. If you read back my post you will see that I have agreed that the price was too high and that it was unacceptable to not be able to choose your seats. All I was saying was that those reasons alone would not stop me following our team to Wembley . Just for the record for anyone else with tickets that appear to not be next to each other. I complained to Tickets.com yesterday and was called back by customer services to tell me that there was an aisle between us and they were in fact together. This seemed a bit dodgy to me as why would the seat number jump 12, surely it would just continue after the aisle with the next number in sequence??. Anyway, after a bit of digging by the other half he found that on the official Cambridge Utd website, they are telling their fans that Tickets.com are fobbing off people with the aisle line to get them off the phone. So im honestly not expecting to be sat with my other half, but as mentioned will probably be able to just swop with some others (hopefully). Not going to let these a**eholes ruin the day though. YELLOW ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

princesspike point taken and I should have read your post again before I posted. I do hope that you will be able to swap your seats on the day, the Pikey family are a true football loving family and it should be the case that you all sit together. I know you will still all enjoy your day out and that is what matters in the end
