While I would agree that using the away end for home fans due to Histon only bringing less than 100 to a play-off semi final, I for one would not want to see the away end turned into a home end.
The first reason is that if we go up we will see much better away support at our ground and as we only have so many seats at one end of the main grandstand, we would not be able to accommodate aways fans properly.
If a stand, or even terraced steps were to be placed between the main stand and the away end then just maybe it could be a goer, but it would still not be a choice I would make.
The second reason is that if we were still in the BSP next season, we will struggle to fill even the popside as has been the case in all home games this season, therefore it makes no sense to spread the fans around into the away end.
It would be best to keep then all on the popside, keep all the main singing together, yes the fans who went in there tonight did us proud, as did the singers on the popside, but we had 2000 extra fans in and that is the only reason it worked at the Histon game.

I thought last night's decision to give the away end to the home supporters was an inspired decision. It must have been pretty intimidating for Histon to have all four sides against them. It made the home support noisier and both halfs we were kicking towards the home end. So I think for one-off games it works great, like it's done in the past e.g. against Scunthorpe in the promotion year.
However I'm a believer in treating others in a similiar way to how you would like to be treated yourself. So I wouldn't be impressed with the view in the old grandstand or out in the open with no cover in the enclosure end that the Histon fans had. Not very nice after travelling 5 hours and imagine how Torquay fans would moan if given that at an away game. If we had a decent new stand there it would be a different matter.

Keep the away for the bumper crowds next year.

To be fair we've got to go to their ground on Monday and I believe that we have to pay more than their fans for the same facilities. They, on the other hand could have had a similar view sitting in the granstand (given that there were probably enough seats) and would have paid exactly the same amount as me.
