I have talked on the forum before about the day for the pre match entertainment, we had a human cannon ball catcher. I can't remember who the member was but one seemed to think I had got it wrong about what the man did in his act. Well I can now bring you the list of events that happened on the day we played Bristol City on the 20th March 1983 and yes I was there at the match. You will see listed at 2.20pm we were treated to a show of strength from the mighty Marcus 1 Bending swords in the throat 2 Attempting to equal the world record lifting 15-5lb house bricks 3 Lying on a bed of swords 4 Catching a CANNON BALL, fired from a CANNON exciting stuff I'm sure you will agree   |

Interesting how the match ball was presented to the team five minutes before the game.
It brings to mind that big at-the-altar worry:
'You do have the rings don't you?'
'No, I thought... oh bugger!'

You forget father that this was a featured game on 'match of the day' and that the camera switched to me during his performance and commented on how entertained I looked (not)

Really enjoyed football at Plainmoor far more back then, was it really 27 years ago? |
