Does anyone know what happens if two sides are level on goal difference and on goals scored? This could conceivably happen to us this year, if we lose by two goals on Sunday and Kiddy get a score draw (scoring one more than us) against Kettering we will have identical records. (For example, a 2-0 defeat for us coupled with a 1-1 draw for them.). *I would imagine it than comes down to head to head performances (they did the double over us ) but that's just a guess. *This scenario also depends on Oxford not winning!

Jerry while I do not know the answer to your question, I think that you might be right and it would come down to head to head performances.
How else could it be sorted? a game and the winner takes all? I really can't see that would happen but you would think it must be written down somewhere.
I wonder if it has happened before, if not then maybe its just something no one has ever thought about and therefore have not put down in writing just what would happen.
Lets just hope we do what we need to do and get the three points, then we can look forward to the play-off games.

I seem to recall in the far distant past the table then reverting to alphabetical order... (Or I could be thinking of my school house days!) In which case a sudden name change to Babbacombe Rovers might be in order...

Isn't this the rare occasion when the two teams meet in a play-off to see who gets to the play-offs?

If two teams finish level on points, the team finishing higher will be the one with the best goal difference. If the teams are still level the team with the most goals scored will finish higher. If the two teams are still level and a promotion/relegation place is at stake they will play off on a neutral ground. Hope that helps, taken from www.sportinglife.com/football/live/tables/conference.html Of course I'm presuming that the same rule applies to play off places. If it does it means a play off to see if you make the play offs Lets just hope it doesn't happen.
