Well, well, I see they're unveiling a Laurel and Hardy statue in Ulverston in Cumbria later today. Ulverston is where Stan Laurel was born in 1890 and it's also where I'll be spending a few days this week. I'm hoping for a few days walking in the Lakes and will shortly be looking in the Non League Paper to see if there's any football on in that area during the week. Any ideas?

No ideas Barton, but don't forget to take a camera we want to see where you have been.

There's a nice picture of it in the Match Report - Barrow thread p5.

I wondered if Mr Hayes and his camera had made the trip. In fact I even questioned somebody taking pictures at Furness Abbey on Tuesday as to whether he was called Chris.
I must have passed Laurel and Hardy half-a-dozen times this week but - alas! - never once were they wearing yellow and blue...

When Dave posed the original question, I missed a great opportunity to claim the sculptures were of Taylor and Woods! ;D
