A few weeks ago BudleighGull made a post that had more Ifs in it than I have ever had woman and yes little Dave has had more than he can remember
Those ifs were more to do with what could have happened over the games that followed his post, I said I was not one for using the very small word If, but I now find myself thinking If only we had not dropped those five points in our last two games.
With Burton only taking one point from nine and if we had won the last two games we would be going into the Stevenage game full of confidence.
The game would have also been a real must win game because if we then went on and Beat Barrow and yes Cambridge lose, we could have been playing the last game at home to Burton knowing we were already the BSP champions.
I do fear the game may just be a must not lose game now, as if results go against us elsewhere we could drop out of the play-offs. Many results have gone our way of late and there is no reason why than could not be the case on Saturday.
Mother said you must not cry over split milk and I need to remember than at this time, she was right and those games and lost points are just history, I have to look ahead and what still might be.
Just like we have had final games where we were up one minute and down the next, so the priority voucher is one moment a must have, then something you might want to throw in the bin, only to have to go and get it back out again.
We sure never do things the easy way at TUFC and we keep fans sitting on the edge of their seats in the final games of the seasons. Come on be honest its never boring being a TUFC fan, you get so many twist and turns, more than any ride you Will find at some Fun Park.
I made a post not so long ago, it was all about the fact that I believed there were fans who were afraid to dare hope, afraid to build up hope that we would go up and I bet there are so many fans tonight even fearing the very worst.
I also had said that until it was mathematically impossible for us to go up as champions, I would keep alive the hope we might, when I could see that would not be possible, then I would put my hope into getting a play-off place.
That is what we have at this time and while its not going to be easy to hang onto it, it is still very much in our own hands and I still have faith in the team to go and get the required results.
If they do that then it will be down to good play and also some luck to win the semi final and also the final, we all know that on our day we can beat any team in this league.
There is the danger that we could lose the play-off place we now hold, for most I feel that would mean the season was a failure, they will say we did not do what a team with our players and the resources that the manager has has, maybe should have done.
I wonder if some will hold back on the season ticket offer, will want to see how the next three games pan out, well I may well not buy one myself as I'm happy to pay my £15 each game, but no matter what happens, I know I'll still be hoping the summer pasts quickly, so I can't get back up to Plainmoor to support the team and club.
