Over the season - consistency and all that - I'm going for Kevin Nicholson. Totaly agree I am surprised he isnt amongstthe front runners. Maybe we should have a fomula 1 scoring sytem throughout the season!

I am going for Bevan. A lot have said that Sills is irreplaceable, and he pretty much is, however for me the ONLY player we could NOT have managed without is the Bevanator. He has been awesome in just about every game i have seen. You can count his mistakes on one hand and has he had a bad game? Its the simple things he does that impress me most. He controls his area very well and the way he deals with crosses is second to none seen at Plainmoor in a very long time. He also has great presence and stature. On top of that he has pulled off some fantastic saves and has been responsible for keeping us in some games. An extension to his contract in the summer would be very welcome. I completely agree with you TUFC01, Bevan will be getting my vote on Saturday as he has been the one player for me who has played consistently well over the course of the season. I have total confidence in Bevon every time I see him run out and take his position between the sticks and as yet he has failed to let me down. Hargreaves has done well this season, but I feel he has either played exceptionally well or has gone a little bit missing from the game (and in some very important games I might add) Overall he has played well and while I agree with statements made on here that we can not afford to take him out of our midfield, I fail to see that because Adams, Thompson and Brough have failed to impress this season (at least in training) warrants Hargreaves being named as player of the year, I would like to also point out That Scotty Is keeping a very good goalkeeper out of the side, and his form means that a player who many regarded a a championship player not so long ago now does not get look in.

Me neither. Went from the gulls nest to the popside and didn't even realise the pots vote was taking place today. Voted for bev as he has been immense for us i feel. Good points made about the other key players though and it is good to have plenty of potential winners.

Interesting that the results from the TFF paler of the season and the paper vote done at that last home game are not that far apart. The only real difference is Woods is top on the clubs own paper vote, while on the TFF one he is joint third with Bevan, that sounds about right to me 1ST Wroe ...................19.7% 2ND Sills.....................18.3% Joint 3RD Bevan.........14.0% Joint 3TH Woods........14.0% Joint 5TH Mansell ......11.2% Joint 5TH Hargreaves..11.2% Joint 7TH Nicoholson...4.2% Joint 7THCarlisle.........4.2% 9TH Todd....................2.8% only nine players voted for Clubs paper vote. 1ST: Steve Woods - 19.1% 2ND: Tim Sills - 17% 3RD: Nicky Wroe - 13.2% 4TH: Chris Hargreaves - 12.1% 5TH: Lee Mansell - 11.7% 6TH: Scott Bevan - 7.6% 7TH: Kevin Nicholson - 7.3% 8TH: Danny Stevens - 3.5% 9TH: Elliot Benyon - 3.3% 10TH: Chris Todd - 2.9%

Well I've gone against my natural distaste for such votes and gone and voted for Scott Bevan...................... Just what constitutes "Player of the Season" is open to debate, but if it is to be someone who has single handedly taken on a position, made it his own and cemented it with a string of dominating and excellent performances then this is my man. Of course, I could have resorted to the reasoning of those who voted for Danny Stevens and said my vote for Scott was on the basis of him being our tallest player; but then that would have been bloody stupid wouldn't it!

Merse no need to have a distaste for polls, they are just a way to judge peoples views, glad you are at last starting to show more spirit and joining in a bit more

Probably 'cos I came home in a good mood having gone out and bought a new hat (was thinking of going to Luton and asking for a Conference one ) and then sat under it at my local Moroccan pavement cafe enjoying strong coffee and a nice pastry whilst disseminating the NLP under a cloudless sky and warm sunshine. STILL no sign of the Special One's latest progeny, the missus now looks like the world's biggest Easter Egg and I've even asked her if she has remembered to take her tights off (well we don't want to present the world with a ready dressed armed robber do we!) I'm convinced he's hanging on until we regain our Football League status. If you want a laugh tonight, click on to the Stevenage fans' forum Borobuzz......................I don't know how to do links; but there's a right loony on there called "Eastterrace Pete" or something similar and if you're contemplating reading his Friday night view of us and his Saturday evening post, make sure you go to the toilet first or you will piss yourself I promise you. So they "deserved to beat us 5-0 and we don't play the game by attacking them and being physical".....................oh dear oh dear, what a sheltered life some people live in their bedrooms all week between games!

Taking the season as a whole I would have to say that Tim Sills has always given 100%.
He is the kind of player I would always put down first on the team sheet.
Others have come close and I would certainly put Kevin Nicholson as my second choice, again a 100% player.

I see the poll has received some more votes that have changed the picture at the top.
Tim Sills now leads with 21.1% of the vote, while Nicky Wroe drops into second place with 18.8%

The poll will close after Sundays game, so if you have not voted there is still some time. Tim Sills still leads the way, do we have a cup to give him? ;D
