Didn`t know him that well, played a game of pool or two against him ( and won one ) he seemed a very decent and charming chap to me. Very sad episode, feel for his family, a big hole that can`t be filled for them I`m affraid.

A big football fan, loved Torquay and loved England! A real friendly guy and a lot of fun!
I am sure he will be playing pool and watching the Gulls up stairs!
Give us a T...O...R...Q...U...A...Y And what have you got TORQUAY!
RIP Fordy!

Have never met steve in person, but i was at applebys on sat to celebrate a close friends 40th, and had to walk pass steve as he was being attended to, i was shocked yesterday when i was informed of the outcome. My thoughts go out to his family and his poor kids, only went out for a few beers and watch footie.
Life is a bitch at times and makes you think, you have to take everyday as it comes
RIP Steve Ford

The face in the paper is familiar and at the back of my mind my memory seems to link him with travelling on the Travel Club coaches as a youth that were organised by Bill Northway and George Fleet over thirty years ago. Maybe I am wrong and it is the memory playing tricks, however; such a freak accident proving life ending proves how we should value each day given to us as we never know whether or not it will be our last ~ merely that we will not pass through that day again, so waste not a moment. I trust he will be suitably remembered at Plainmoor on Saturday.

Maybe an idea to have a minute of thought( not silence so much but thought or prayer or what ever you would like to title it) before the carvery! Just an idea.

Sounds the proper thing to do aussie and your are now in charge to do a toast to him, such a sad event and it shows how we must live and enjoy each day to the full.

I`d be very proud to do that mate, but there might be other people who would be more appropriate for the cause as I think there are a few people here that new him far more than I did. Saying that if no one comes forward I will do it and feel honoured!
