Well there was I in Barnstable and feeling a bit fed up, well so many road works and other events had wiped the normally ever present smile from my face.
Then at around 10am my phone rang and it was Sally from the club, what a lovely lady she is to talk with on the phone and how helpful she has been to play her part in making this Saturday a really special one for Lewis.
Sally will be at a wedding on Saturday and is disappointed that she will miss our big day,but we will be looked after by her collegue Mark Jenkins.
The kit is ready and I will be picking this up on Wednesday. along with a signed shirt the club have kindly given, plus a tracksuit that Lewis has picked out for himself.
The programme for the match will have a special feature on Chris Todd and I believe about another man who has won our 50/50 draw, he found out around the same time Chris did that he has the same condition. I understand he has also made good progress and is now back at work.
The programme will also have an acknowledgment to the Torquay Fans Forum, for all the fund raising it has done for the Lewis day. Sally had asked If we wanted to put the names of everyone who has given to the appeal, sadly being so far away from home and the need to provide the information today, I said it would be better to just say it was from the members of the forum.
Plus I only have user names and they would not mean that much to anyone who is not a member on here and I would have had to ask everyone if you wanted to use your name to be put on the programme.
So this really is a must buy programme and I'm sure we can sort out a copy for anyone who is not at the game.
