Seems like Greavsie has lost his enthusiasm to blog of late. His last effort was after the game last Wednesday and they have been getting noticeably shorter and shorter lately in any case. For a so called veteran of the game , he does reveal a tendency to be a bit of a headless chicken in his time away from the training ground and it makes me wonder whether or not he is getting the quality time to rest his mind and body that is so essential. Even on his "week away" during his suspension he was haring around the country with his family Signs of burn out?

Maybe it`s writers block, or he may have been spoken to about blog contents and to be careful with what he says given the recent goings on; ie. Steve Woods, Buckles reaction to the fans and some player selection issues! Or maybe the novelty has just worn off!

That's fair comment and a good observation Aus, still worried about the burn out factor though ~ it can be devastating at this stage of the season as we all saw last year. How did the youth team get on this morning? I've recently got in from Anthony's morning football and have got Wycombe v Shrewsbury on the box, have you noticed that although Wycombe haven't won for four matches their supporters are tremendous in getting behind them and trying to lift them?

He might also just be knackered being as old as he is, so you could be spot on there. The Yoof team lost after going 1-0 up in the first half with a great cross and goal to suffer two good corners and twice the unmarked pasty muncher had a free header, not a huge gulf in class, we played o.k. Our two wing backs look promising and Ashley played well I thought, some good defending from the centre backs but it was really dominated by clarance (hoof) style football. The amount of times both sides players looked up after hitting a pass or through ball was begining to piss me off a bit but I reminded my self they are only young lads and have (obviously) a shit load to learn.

........................................... some good defending from the centre backs but it was really dominated by clearance (hoof) style football. The amount of times both sides players looked up after hitting a pass or through ball was begining to piss me off a bit but I reminded my self they are only young lads and have (obviously) a shit load to learn. That's a total contrast to the type of approach I see every Tuesday and Thursday evening at Arsenal, and makes me realise why so many of the academy lads who don't make it at that level struggle when they come straight down to League 2 and BSP level to try and build a bridgehead in their careers. For those who don't initially make it at the very top echelons of the game, the next move in their careers is so important as it can be totally destructive for them to come into that type of environment. Just imagine what it is like for a young guy who has had it drilled into him to keep possession at all costs, to regard the ball as his loved one and open spaces as his friend; to find himself cast adrift in that crash, bang wallop type of environment. It would be a precocious player indeed who could take all that on board and rise above it in the style that Lee Sharpe did when he came to us having failed to make the mark at Aston Villa, but Alex Ferguson was immediately alerted to the uncut diamond who was barely here five minutes before he was gone again. I thought I saw a young lad like that lining up against us in the BSP not long ago as a loanee for one of our opponents, and on a chance meeting with one of his family a couple of weeks ago was horrified to learn that his parent club had informed him he was not being offered a contract next season . This is a League 2 club who picked him up from a Championship club last summer where he had been released by a manager who has since been replaced by two other managers already which tells all about THAT particular club's suitability to be making career changing decisions on youngsters. Anyway, to cut a long story short, this particular youngster has now been offered a short contract by another BSP club but has decided to take up an offer to go to another club purely to take advantage of their offer to enjoy their training and coaching facilities and special level of football education.......................that club is Barcelona!
