Rumours emanating from the "Conference Administration" continue to point towards Kettering Town not being allowed to play in the BSP play offs should they qualify for the nit picking reason that "they do not have a minimum ten year lease on their ground" and this would preclude them from attaining membership of the Football League. Of course "all talk do nothing" Chairman Brian Lee has refused to confirm that "someone" from the BSP jumped the gun and informed the Football League of Kettering's dilemma which would mean (according to Conference rules) the club finishing second highest in the final table would receive a bye to the Play Off final where they would meet the victors of the semi final between those finishing immediately behind them excluding Kettering. No doubt those blazers are kacking themselves that the Poppies qualify and clinging on to the hope that they will be saved from yet another embarrassing situation regarding ground suitability. Anyone who has visited either Accrington or Histon would see the absolute farce in this ruling that precludes a ground with a decent main stand and only needs a little remedial work doing to the behind the goal terracing, yet accepts what are little more than village recreation grounds at the two aforementioned clubs Histon and Accrington. What with their failure to address the ongoing Weymouth farce and the totally unfair gifting of goals and points to the likes of Burton Albion, and this; the prospect of a farcical ending to the season is on the horizon.

Just shows why we need to get out of this league and as soon as possible, or for the football league to take the conference in under its umbrella. If that was to happen we could then see a proper system of promotion and not just one club and take your pick from the next four as it is now.

Maybe Dave Shaw calling it a pub league wasn't too far off the mark? ;D
