I have always felt it a tragedy when anyone dies before their time and it always seems so much sadder when the person has hardly reached any age at all.I think we all get touched when we read of a young child who has passed away and struggle to understand why.
There is always so much pain and suffering felt by those who loved the child or person and the sense of lose is one that can take years to get over, if they ever can get over it.
I once asked the high priest at St Marychurch Church that if there was a god, why had he let a young child die, one that I knew and was only six years old. He told me that god had taken the child to heaven as he needed her and it was just gods wish.
Feeling the hurt and pain I was feeling at that time, I told him I felt his god was selfish, he had millions up in heaven and why would he want to take another child up to heaven, when it would cause so much heartbreak and leave a hole in the people who loved the child so much, one that could never be filled.
I said you tell me god needed the child, but I told him that the family needed the child as well and there was no good reason as far as I was concerned or no pressing need god could have to take a child away from the family who loved it so much and where it really belonged.
I do not believe the priest really believes his answer, I felt such words are only said to try and lessen the pain and offer some hope that the child is now in safe hands and is still receiving the love it deserves.
Jade Goody was someone I never ever heard of until she was on big brother, not that I watch it but we all know the claims made after she had made some remarks, since she was diagnosed with cancer I have followed her life more closely and kept alive the hope that somehow she would beat it.
She has been in so much pain recently and while it is so sad her life has ended. so has her pain and suffering that must have been so hard to bear, now the pain and suffering will be felt by her family, her young boys who now have to face their young lives with out the most important person in their lives, their mum and how hard must it be for them on today of all days, mothering Sunday.
Many of you today will be going out with your mum for dinner, or your children will be taking you out to show you how special and loved you are. While its a day everyone should enjoy, maybe we can spare a thought for all those who are unable to show their mum today, just how much they love her.
Living and dealing with diseases like cancer are very hard, one thing that has always taken so much out of me, is having to be strong for so many other people. I have to be strong for Carol herself, her mum and dad and also for her four sons, who love her so much as Carol really is a special person.
Life so often seems very unfair, life's lost and hearts badly broken, its the reason I feel strongly that we all need to treat those we love properly, show them everyday just how much we do love them and let them know just how important they are, because one day they may no longer be there and it will be far to late once they have gone.
For the last six years, Christmas day, Carols birthday. mothering Sunday etc are so important and special because Carol has made it to yet another one that I can share with her and she can also share with all those who love her so much.
Rest in Peace dear Jade Goody my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family

Hmmn, OK Magazine were so keen to get their two bob's worth out of the whole distasteful and greedy episode, they published her obituary LAST Tuesday............five days BEFORE she passed away. Cancer is excruciatingly painful, the death of two young children's parent the most hurtful and horrible torture; but this whole tawdry pantomime is a shameful exercise of which the participants should be utterly, utterly ashamed.

There are no rights or wrongs in the way Jade choose to spend the last few weeks of her life Merse, she got paid well and she says she did it so as to make sure her boys could be well looked after, call it her final pay day if you like.
She should not be criticized for her actions, this was her way of having to deal with cancer and her certain death, no it may not have been to everyones liking, but that was her life and her last few weeks to live it.
Being in the public eye is what is normal to her and why should her death be any different, it was what her life was all about, no different to any one else wanting to die doing what they had always done and what gave them pleasure.
She died doing what she had done for so long and if that was how she wished to spend her final days, then who are you to say it was wrong, it was right for her and that really is all that matters.
