We went out for a run in the car today for the wife's birthday. i lost count how many counties we visited and it got me thinking whether there is anywhere else in the country that it would be possible to visit so many in 3 hours.
we started in RCT ( Rhondda, Cynon, Taff (formerly Mid Glamorgan)) then went through Brecknockshire, Camarthenshire, Ceridigion, Powys, Neath Port Talbot (formerly West Glamorgan) , Merthyr Tydfil (now separate from RCT). we did these counties several times as we wound our way through the countryside.
It was a beautiful day and I wish I had the digital camera I've been promising myself. the day was topped off with Manure losing, England winning and of course Torquay winning
It's going to be quiet in the club and work. do you think i should mention that England scored the most tries in the 6 nations and we finished 2nd, above Wales ;D

Have twice done Taunton to Histon/Cambridge by road - out via Oxford; back via the M11/M25/A303. More than three hours, of course, but we counted 14 counties (whether you stick to "old" or "new"). Possibly more if you went via the M5/M6/A14.
Can this be beaten for other away trips? Halifax, Huddersfiled, etc would leave open option of M1/M6 circuit from the SW. Norwich might stack up plenty.
