You may have seen my one and only cup I ever won and that was only for a ref for the day. Who remembers Linters newsagents at Plainmoor? well Ant was a paperboy at Linters and played in their football team. Picture one was when they won the Torbay and District area final Picture two was at the finals in Plymouth, Linters lads made the final but were sadly lost the game( picture two says that Sharon Linter is the mascot, she is not in the photo, the last one on the right is Ant. Yes my cup again, well I'm proud of it

I was at all of those occasions Dave - the TLC, the Mayflower in Plymouth; didn't they even go to Wembley Arena or am I going completely bonkers??
I was never a paperboy at my local (which was Linter's) but knew the family very well, went to school with Sharon and played a lot of golf with Steve too...then again living just around the corner from the shop I always used to go in there for my Panini stickers, whatever they happened to be selling at the time!! I still quite often see Jill and her sister Jean as well at Boots & Laces, and am friendly with Jean's hubby Paul who I'd imagine quite a few of you have seen in the bar a lot. Tall guy with slick back black hair and usually wearing a beige camel hair coat, to look as much like 'Del Boy' as possible. He was the chef at the Buccaneer in Babbacombe.
Played golf with Steve Green (and his brother Dave) at Petitor as well, but didn't recall until now that he was one of Linter's Lads as well.
And all that time, one of the paperboys was son of this forum creator! What a small world.

You are correct Andy, the winners from the Mayflower in Plymouth went to the UK finals at Wembley. Did you beat Steve green? I seem to remember it was thought he would end up as a pro golfer.

For a little lad, Steve Green could hit the ball a mile...maybe even further than me!! He was a much better golfer than I will ever be, but honestly I've not seen him in at least 15 years.
