It looks like the MacFarland effect is starting to kick in at Burton. 2-1 losers at Ebbsfleet on the back of a draw and a defeat. Freefall or a temporary blip? And which team is most likely to eat into their lead over the coming weeks?
This is officially now NOT what Aldershot did. This time last year they were getting a lucky away win at Plainmoor - much like we did at Grays and Altrincham? - not losing at Ebbsfleet.
Anyone changing their minds on their invinceability?

Believe is the keyword! 12 points behind and we've still got a chance of taking 6 points from them. Can we grab 6 points or more than Burton from those other 9 games? Also Histon have an even better chance of cathing them.

I think with recent dropped points at home we may have missed the boat on this one. Football is all about what if's, but in just the last 2 home games "if" you add on the 4pts we dropped we would be = 2nd 8pts behind and still have the chance take 6pts of the leaders.
Like I say it's all if's and but's. 12pts is acheiveable, lets just see where we are in April??

They've got to get past the BSP's current best central defensive partnership on Saturday first, stu.
....Brough and Todd. 4 clean sheets in the last five.

Quite. No doubt dropping Harrad and Pearson at some point to focus the minds more on the bore draw. ;D

I said some time ago that until it is no longer mathematically possible to win the title, we still have a chance to do so. With Burton being so far in front as they were, it is more a case of them losing it as they were firmly in the driving seat.
It is still my view that we must firstly concentrate on what is in our own hands and at this time, this is making sure we hold on too our play-off spot.We should not forget one season we had when we were so far adrift at the bottom of the table we looked doomed, but we over come the points gap and saved ourselves, so there is no is no reason that the gap with Burton could close even further.
It will depend on us bettering their results and if we do it could then go to the last day of the season. If that was to happen it would be another of those last season games we have had to go through before at Plainmoor. Some really did end in tears, but some saw us on the pitch with tears of real joy.
Anything can happen, just keep believing and who knows, we might just go back up in real style.

And yet people still give Roy Mac an unfair amount of credit for our own promotion...
If Burton do suffer a serious stumble, i don't think we're best placed to take advantage. Although if we were to win our games in hand, we'd be above Cambridge and Stevenage, both are in better form than us. If any team is to catch them (and i don't think any will), it'll be Brabins bunch. With our record in head-to-heads, can anyone seriously see us getting 6 points off of them?

And yet people still give Roy Mac an unfair amount of credit for our own promotion... Can't remember anyone doing that Shane, I do remember people saying it was his team that Leroy took up, only Roy mac failed to get the best out of the players and it was Leroy who turned Roy's team into a promotion one. We can only take advantage if Burton continue to drop points, they may do that, or they could go and win all their games they have left to play. We need to take each game as it comes and just try and win as many as possible and then see where we are and where Burton are.

That's what i meant Dave. He assembled a quality team, but never got it to perform in a manner that would have achieved promotion. He still gets attributed some of the credit which ought to have been saved for Leroy. Roy Mac was a glorified scout! ;D
