I have been trying to work it out, why some fans seem to want to look for cracks, why they have the half glass empty mentality and why they just can't applauded every victory.
Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree here, but I have feeling it could be that some fans just fear our season ending in another major let down. As we know being a TUFC fan has never been a ride on a crest of a wave, more like a roller coaster and one that had more down hill stretches than uphill ones.
I do firmly put last seasons play-off defeat as one of the real reasons gates are so much lower this season and it came on top of the terrible end to the season before, when we lost our 80 year league history.
The gates speak for themselves, many just feel that TUFC the BSP club no longer has the attraction TUFC the league club did and that is sad, because if we are to get back into the league, having good support now is so important, because without it, so much extra financial pressures get put on the club.
Is it the case that fans now have become afraid to hope and believe that good things will happen, that we will enjoy some success at last, maybe some feel its better not to hope and by picking holes in everything will make any failure so much easier to take should it happen.
If you only expect failure then it won't hurt so much when it happens and I can fully understand that, but I would have thought being so negative must make people unhappy even miserable, but OK failure won't hurt so much.
Last night we won, so it was not some great four nil thrashing we gave them, but we still got the three points, those points could be the ones that get us to a play-off final. What ever happened to the views I once used to read, the ones like, I don't care how we play or win as long as we win and can get back into the football league.
This is an important part of our season now, we should not worry to much if every game is only won in th 90th minute, all we should care about is that we got the three points and still have things in our own hands.
Yes we may be crying on the last day of the season, we do not know at this time, but I'm a firm believer that positive thoughts can make good things happen and thats is what I have and if it means the final day of the season hurts me even more, because I dared to hope, then it will only be one day and I would have enjoyed far more days full of hope and having a positive attitude.
