This is not some post generating Yeovil wants Buckle thread and anyway Yeovil were not looking to bring in a manager from outside the club and for a very good reason. Slade was sacked after the team had won four games on the trot and the claims being made were he fiddled his expensives.
Following a long talk with someone in Yeovil today, I will post on this thread what I was told and this was told to me by someone who would know.
I was told that the club had conceded that it has to go into administration and is fully aware of the deadlines set down for doing so. If Yeovil went into administration before the dead line, they would get a 10 point deduction from the league, if they did it after the dead line; they would be relegated back into division two.
It seems Yeovil wishes to remain in division one and it now looks likely that they will go into administration in two weeks time. As things stand now they are 8 point from the drop zone and not taking into account any results between now and when it would happen, Yeovil would be in the relegation zone.
I understand they believe the team is good enough to avoid the drop after taking a 10 point penalty and this is the preferred way to do it. I asked if it was felt that the problems have come about since Dave Webb owned the team, but was told he had nothing to do with it and the club has been mismanaged for the last 19 years.
It was 19 years ago they moved into the new ground, I thought it was not that long but was told it was and the ground had not generated the money many feel it was doing. Hard to believe a club, who I thought was a model for most to follow, now seems to also be in trouble and it only underlines the problems many more clubs must have.
Is Barton Down in the know? Just that he agreed with a post I made yesterday that Yeovil may soon be playing in division two with gates of 2500.
