Damn you Hayes, I knew that one! You're just too quick for me. I thought he had signed for St. Mirren? He has. He says it's a stepping stone to his "dream move" to Celtic.

5. Which club's stadium is the highest above sea level? The Hawthorns, home of West Bromwich Albion.
I'd heard the same as you Barton and always thought it was Boundary Park, Oldham. Playing around with Google Earth confirms The Hawthorns is higher than Boundary Park. Google Earth points you to a Wikipedia article which suggests that, of senior non-league grounds, Buxton is higher than even the dreaded Tow Law. Of the ones listed I'll admit to having visited Hook Norton. If you were to include Welsh grounds I've also seen a game at the truly Godforsaken Merthyr Saints which I'm sure looks down on all the rest. Can anybody find the link between Manchester City and the man who is widely considered to be the pioneer of computer science?

As a bonus, do the same (i.e. name 5 teams) from the top 4 leagues in ScotlandI'll assume that Celtic doesn't count... Off the top of my head, I can only think of Dundee United, Kilmarnock and East Fife. Why on earth shouldn't Celtic count? The missing one is East StirlingshirE

Alpine Joe, are you telling me that a tabloid newspaper LIED to me?! I'll assume that Celtic doesn't count... Off the top of my head, I can only think of Dundee United, Kilmarnock and East Fife. Why on earth shouldn't Celtic count? The missing one is East StirlingshirE Good call with East Stirlingshire. I wouldn't have got that if I had all day. I assume Celtic doesn't count because they are, indeed, Glasgow Celtic. Midlands, I'm still working on your question. I've got one so far, a certain obvious one.

Who posed this one? As far as I can see there's only four. Was Celtic the cuckoo in the question?

I set the question and you have all 5 clubs: Celtic Dundee United East Fife East Stirlingshire Kilmarnock Celtic have never called themselves Glasgow Celtic - this was invented by English & other European commentators to help point their listeners/viewers towards the club's provenance. As their fans would say "if you know your history ..." www.celticfc.net/home/about/briefHistory.aspx

Alright, alright, Mr Know-It-All! I'm English through-and-through, so they will always be Glasgow Celtic to me.

Yes, thanks for that Ealing. I shall endeavour to remember it just in case I'm made to to look stupid (again!).
Need help on the clubs with the vowels yet? As DGEP has alluded, one of them should be quite easy.

Rotherham United was the only other one I could come up with originally, but thought it was just for the four divisions so stopped looking after getting them and Hartlepool !!

Aw nuts!!Yes, I'm stuck in a bleedin' time warp! You know, I didn't even think of it, it just seemed so natural that we were a league club. So sorry. I shall hang my head in shame! Now for the two missing 'A's...
