As far as results go as an indicator then surely that comes at the end of the season... we are in a great position in the league to get into the play-offs and then see what happens... If we are judging on where we are now, then we're in that play-off position already. Can't be bad!

I personally think Buckle and the team has progressed this season after that horribly start when it took several games to find a winning formula with the new players. Even when we were winning last season I was not fully convinced - we cenceded far too many goals and were over reliant from scoring from set-pieces in a one-dimensional approach.
This season we've tried different formations that have worked, namely 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1, 3-5-2. Yesterday's 4-3-3 (I believe) clearly did not work and backfired spectacularly. It was clearly packed with too many similiar central midfielders offering no width. If it worked I'd be calling Buckle a tactical genius, but when it does not it is fair that Buckle can be criticised. Afterall, that what he is paid to do - team selection, tactics, motivation of players etc. Buckle seems to learn from his mistakes so thankfully I don't expect to see that line-up again.
I still have faith, and can accept the occasional nightmare, but not too many !

I am personally pleased Torquay are out of the FA Trophy. It has always been the league league league, ever since we were relegated on 14th April 2007. Give me a 4th qualifying round FA cup defeat, a third round FA Trophy defeat, a first round Devon Bowl defeat any day for promotion back into the league. I hate the stigma of being a non league club and I cant stand the scum having bragging rights over us when I had been taking the mick out of them mercilessly for four years. I dont care how we do it, by winning the league or play off. I just want August 2009 to be the start of our League 2 campaign.
