A lot going on today, bonfire night, US presidential elections and of course we travel up for a crucial National League fixture where we need to translate some good performances into three points so as to keep in touch with the top of the league. Hopefully Mussa is fit after limping off late on Saturday afternoon, but if not, hopefully Jenkins Davies will be back into the mix as we missed his running in midfield on Saturday.
I see this match is on at Boots and laces if anyone is interested although I’ll be staying at home cuddling my dogs in amongst all the loud bangs with classic FM on at full blast!

link - Tonks and Palmer in for Craske and Dyer. Both are on the bench with Jenkins- Davies also coming in leaving no room for Seymour.

I’m trying to think of the last game we won due to our attacking options on the bench?
The manager got it spot on tonight.

1-0 win after 100 minutes of playing time! Nerve wracking watching the clock tick down on Flashscore! Keeps us 3 points off top place with a game in hand. Fourth place with second to fifth all on same number of points.

Have to be pleased with the three points, the work rate, the defensive job and general resilience but it once again exposed quite a number of shortcomings especially first half when we sat too deep and couldn't get any rhythm or threat going in our game though some credit must go to the opposition who pressed our every move and who dominated for long periods without really threatening our goal. Thankfully we defended really well and Hamon rediscovering his form looking assured and handled well all the night.
Credit to the subs who injected much needed energy quicker thinking and who pressed higher up the pitch where before we were ponderous and lacking any quality on the ball . Threkfeld has really disappointed in his defensive midfield role and as a former FL player expected so much more as the natural replacement for Asa Hall.
A team/squad in transition and I fancy we still need more pace, energy and quality to maintain our position at the top.
