So do you think we should have been awarded a penalty in the game against Coventry?The ref sure did not think the trip made on Dsane inside the box was,but I'm not sure if he was right or not.
To me it looked as if Dsane was clearly tripped as he ran after the ball, we would have got the ball as it was not to far in front of him.Maybe the ref just felt the defender accidentally clipped Dsanes heel and it was not intentional, but the fact remains that Dsane was tripped from behind in the box and If I was the ref and saw that I would have given it.

i think if it was outside of the box it would have been a definite foul but harsh on cov for a penalty

The penalty which should have been given should have been one of five goals. Shame.

You know perfectly well that if it was a Cov player being tripped in the box they would have got a pen, Typical refs at plainmoor!

I've seen it several times and I still can't make up my mind. Put it this way, if it was at the other end and it was given, I would have been fuming about such a soft decision. So how can I expect the referee to be blasting his whistle just because it would be benefiting my team? If we'd stuck one of our many chances away, we wouldn't even be discussing the possibility of a penalty. At the end of the day (and other such cliches), we didn't put the ball in the back of the net. The way our finishing was yesterday, I'm pretty sure the penalty would have landed somewhere near Bideford so there's not a lot of point in getting worked up about it. |
