With our only midfielder subbed, has Marshall pushed up into midfield?

Roger jeopardising his reputation as the right kind of supporter by suggesting that Chelmsford have played like a team and we haven’t.
That could be deemed as criticism of Gary Johnson.
That marks Roger out as the wrong kind of supporter. The club could do without such negativity as it will stop us getting back in the Football League.

Predictable result with that line up. Well be just fine when we get the likes of - Lapslie, Hall, Craske, Martin, Mac Gavin, Stobbs, Jarvis, Ash, Jenkins Davis, Dawson, all match fit ..... and then it will be all too late.

With the long injury list we have which is made worse by it including so many of our experienced and stronger players results like this aren't too unexpected.
Realistically the immediate aim has to be to stay in touch for now and then finish strongly and get second or third place for the play offs.
Then hope for a ref who maybe hasn't had a rotten holiday in Torbay in the final. 🤞

As I said, I do agree with Rags that (other than Paul Bastard), the BBC should not just stick any old supporter on the mic.
I try not to be too critical as I would not want to do it myself and generally admire people who are prepared to give it a go.
If Roger’s in-match effort was very poor, his post-match effort was excruciatingly embarrassing. Far from supporting the club, he has insulted our new loan signing and his cultural heritage. I do hope that the BBC never give him airtime again. I can forgive people just not being very good at what they do, but this went way beyond that. You can laugh at someone who thinks you can run off a cruciate ligament injury but some forms of ignorance are just not funny. Totally embarrassing both for the BBC and for Torquay United FC.

I may be living in the past...but Jarvis and Archer look like they are useful. Perhaps they can strike up a partnership like Toshack and Keegan and start scoring a hat full of goals?

I decided to switch over to the club radio as soon as I realised who the "co-commentator" was. Boring but at least reasonably factual. In fact I am always disappointed when Paul Mulhern is not the main commentator on Radio Devon, or even when he is relegated to the backup slot in favour of some other idiot who doesn't know the names of the players. Last week it was "the Torquay man loses it to the Hemel man", and I just don't understand where they find these people.

I chose not to listen to BBC Devon following the final whistle but infer from what you have written that there was an element of racism in Roger's comments. He is entitled to his opinion but that is exactly what the BBC should be guarding against to ensure they meet their Broadcasting Standards obligation. Their choice of co-commentator was mistaken and easily avoided. The blame for any offence falls firmly with the BBC. It is unacceptable in 2023.
