link - good article by Richard Hughes today discussing the very little communication coming out of the club with fans looking for answers after the poor performances we are seeing on the pitch causing massive frustration. I do know that TUST are looking to host a fans forum in the coming weeks and further details of this will be forthcoming shortly…..

About time. Hopefully other printed and broadcast media will do the same.

The article ends abruptly in mid sentence at the bottom of the page for me but I get the gist.
Its about time this issue was raised though I totally understand why the owners adopt this policy. Looking at it from their point of view and just as a business venture just what is there to gain for them to engage and be open with fans when we all know their core interests are purely commercial and lie outside of football?
Engaging with supporters usually ends up with, awkward questions and dead end arguments that often create more issues and bad feeling toward, board, owners etc. They know that from previous experience. Just look at teir track record. They want us well away from their core business plans and communication and the odd awkward question could instantly put that plan in jeopardy.
There's clearly a gag order at Plainmoor with only the manager as the nominated "self censored mouth peice" who is clearly under restrictions when interviewed by in house reporter Dom Mee. When did you last see GJ put on the spot with a proper searching question? And then you ask yourself why Garry Johnson has survived in his management role for so long? Simply put he just does what hes told and tows the line and gives out minimal information in the weekly update. Any rival club with genuine football ambitions would have sacked him months ago. Nothing of any real substance is ever asked with many of the questions already answered by the interviewer Dom for GJ just to agree and waffle on. Do we really expect Dom to ask about the loans or any prospective signings, squad strengthening or perhaps an injury update? It clearly restricted as to what he can ask its so bloody obvious. Its a weekly smoke screen that's meant to to pacify the supporters. And then there's the player interviews and top ten questions.... On the edge of my seat watching these. Give me strength!
Its a total insult and disrespectful to the supporters who pay good money to watch a dire standard of football. But hey their the ones who pump the money in for what ever the reason and pull all of the strings don't they? So with every club employee sworn to secrecy what hope is there?
I have been emotionally and financially invested in TUFC for over 55 years. I felt for along period part of the football club. As a supporter I was an essential part of any success or failure... be it only a small cog. I can honestly say that I no longer have an interest in a football club that has no interest in the fans or the future of the football club. Supporters are now treated with contempt and are just another obstacle in the way of "their future plans" Any one who cannot see through that re living in dreamland but feel the owners really do want to see support drift away and lose interest as a means to an end for their own agenda.

It seems to be a policy of planned obsolescence.
