TUFC match previewFollowing a strong performance on Tuesday evening, the team have got it all to do again against league 1 Exeter. Three new signings have since come in although only translates as one extra body. I don’t hold out much hope for Dawson to make an appearance and not sure if any knocks is strains were picked up on Tuesday. Collins was stretching his hamstring just before coming off but this was very likely precautionary.

Hope not. Result not really important, but nobody enjoys losing football matches!

Same starting eleven yet again!
Jenkins-Davies on the bench as are Marshall and Hanson.
No Moxey or Dawson.
So seven man bench of one keeper, four defenders, two midfielders and no forwards. Two injured are a defender and a midfielder.

I’m sure he will be having a word with the player who clapped when Hanson got clattered and the Exeter player didn’t even get a booking. I hope we don’t see that feckin’ ref again, Wayne Kerr 😡 |

Another really encouraging performance and reaping the benefits of keeping the same side that finished so strongly the previous season. Craske and Ash have further added to the squad and Tomlinson feels like a new signing after his experience and development with his loan spell last season. The signing of Dan Martin is a big bonus giving us cover in the wingback area or defence and could even release Collins up front as paradoxically, while the wide and forward positions, have our strongest players they are also those with the weakest cover in the case of injuries and/or suspensions.

City manager sounding a bit of a sore loser. Yes,Lapslie should have been sent off but they should have been down to 9 men when their defender wrestled Ash to the ground.Tackles were flying in from both sides in the first half-some of it to due to the wet pitch ,but I don't think we were any more physical then them really.
Still think we would have won even if Sweeney hadn't been sent off. Ash looks to be a good finisher-will probably miss a few "sitters", but gets in to good positions.

Very impressed by his work rate and think he will combine well with Jarvis, if they both keep fit, should net 20 plus goals each this season.

I must admit that I am in a state of shock at what happened at this match! Indeed it is something I never thought I would experience in this lifetime…Torquay fans singing something different to “Yellow Army - Yellow Army - Yellow 😴”

The annual pre season unfriendly. Luckily we seem to have come through it injury (and suspension) free.
As Jon says, pre season means nothing but with this team it looks as if we will hit the ground running having kept the core of the team that ended the last season well. I think we're going to need an edge to beat Yeovil to the top spot and getting off to a flying start while their new team settles in might just be it.
