Following their promotion to the National League southern Premier division, Cardiff city women are turning semi professional ahead of the 23/24 campaign. They are currently the reigning champions of Wales and FAW women's cup holders and are in the UEFA women's champions league draw facing FC Gintra of Lithuania in the first qualifying round playing over two legs in September.
So, very much a tough start to the campaign and we were walloped by this team a year to back in pre-season as well. However, the gap is closing with our team working on a strict fitness program since the end of last season and should be more able to compete. This is the first chance to watch either of the Torquay teams which is at home although the venue is yet to be confirmed.

Tough start to pre-season against a very good and efficient Cardiff team already in a sequence of matches winning 7-0 against a rusty Torquay side that fell short of the standards set last season. To be fair, it was actually a good competitive match with chances from Pengelly, Kilburn-Thompson and Wyatt just going begging. 4 trialists featured with a number of players away and all players were rotated in and out playing in a variety of positions and formations so a typical PSF and not the ideal opposition to start with.
