I'm guessing (only guessing mind) that because he is on the shirt sponsorship page then he has be given a professional contract. Well that's one of my many points, Pete. Our only option is to guess.

BBC Radio Solent report that Eastleigh have made an offer for Jarvis. Squeaky bum time.

BBC Radio Solent report that Eastleigh have made an offer for Jarvis. Squeaky bum time. Not to worry, Gilbert the Gull was in top form at the Cherry Pie Fair according to the club's OS.

Good news. Always that extra buzz when a Torquay born player puts on the shirt, too. Dead ball specialist, eh! Crying out for one of those, too. Craske seems to have impressed fans and management alike, which tends to be a promising combination to achieve.

Good news. Always that extra buzz when a Torquay born player puts on the shirt, too. Old Torquinian* to boot! Not quite sure how he managed to be playing for The Janners from age 9 but let's not dwell on that too much... *TBGS for those not fortunate to have received a Barton Road education. Of course those days are long gone and I daresay Will JD is oblivious to the long walk to Shiphay Lane for games afternoons. Have I nostalgically warbled on too long?!

Not surprised we have signed Craske. Having a utility defender like him or Donnellan on the bench means you can have three attacking options on there. Or zero if you are Gary Johnson.
I have never rated Dan Martin even when 100% fit.
The young lad on loan from Plymouth sounds promising. Hope he will be the most advanced of three midfielders, meaning we only need two of Dawson, Lapslie and Hall fit. Will reduce the opportunities for McGavin to try to prove everyone wrong.
Need a striker or two and probably a centre half. Tomlinson impresses on Tuesday but not sure he is ready to be first choice

I suspect he has been with Plymouth since he was 9 because that would be around the time the Dean Edwards consortium shut down our youth system in their wisdom. Just the latest example of penny-wise/pound-foolish history of our youth system and the players we lost out on.

Warble on, I can think of two other ex TBGS players, Steve Morrall and Maurice Cox but there are probably others. As a 60-68 ex I, too, recall the long walk to Shiphay Lane, down through Chapel Woods only to find that as the pitches were waterlogged it was cross country (yet again). And I remember the route we took for that too!

I played against Steve Morall several times. He was lighning quick. He also featured in an article in, I believe, the Telegraph which featured talented players outside of the top division. Nice guy. Always liked him.
