Cannot get to the game today, as on the Easter Uni run, but will keep an ear out for what is a crucial game if we are going to make a fight of avoiding the drop. TUFC match preview

Can’t see us escaping the drop I’m afraid 😢
If we get anything out of the game, I’m sure our rivals will match or better it, games running out 😥

So yet another last throw of the dice. 🎲
We’re past the stage of draws now, and also very, very reliant on other teams screwing up. My attention as always will be on the vast amount of corners we get, and our total ineptitude of taking advantage of any of them! A season long fault, and just one of the nails which is fastening down our coffin lid. ⚰️

Hall and Nouble light years better than the alternatives, but is either fit to start?
With another game on Tuesday, it is all about how to get the best out of what they have in the tank. Do you start them and pull them off (stop giggling Chelston) when they run out of steam or hold them back and ask them to give 20-30 minutes full pelt off the bench?
If the latter it’s Hanson or McGavin in midfield and Collins or Fadahunsi up top. That is if Collins has recovered from whatever kept him out of the Gateshead game. If Collins is fit, we could have two forwards on the bench for the first time in many a month. Is it the first time all season? Not sure.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Not a bad motto for life, definitely if you are a TUFC fan.
Slough v Ebbsfleet on BT Sport. We won’t be playing Ebbsfleet next season but we may well be playing Slough.
Come on you Yellows!

Halstead, Hall and Collins start.
Nouble on bench.
Wyatt and Fadahunsi drop out of 16, so we still don't have two attacking options on the bench. One better than the usual none though.

4-2-3-1. Collins left, Evans in the hole. They were all in the hole a big one dug by themselves. You missed a great "cup final"🤣🤣🤣. Awful game awful mistakes very poor standard. Players look resigned to their fate even after we scored looked lost and bereft of any inspiration . It was another truly pathetic display and ending to a must win game. Expected little else.

To be honest, I thought we looked ok for most of the game; certainly looked better than D&R and I had initially thought that apart from Marshall and Donnellan, it wasn’t a bad starting XI. Taking Evans off (unless injured) was a mistake in my view but once Donnellan and Marshall combined to work their magic there was only going to be one winner.

Taking Evans off (unless injured) was a mistake in my view but once Donnellan and Marshall combined to work their magic there was only going to be one winner. I didn't think D&R were that interested and got the feeling could have easily have raised the tempo but with nothing to play for they made us look ok first half. From where I was viewing the standard of play was dire from both sides though we had most of the game territorially but again we were useless around the box with one exception of Jarvis's strike and susceptible, as always to the counter with the now regular amateur hour defending again our downfall. I almost expected that ending its happened countless times now. This is a truly dreadful squad that's been chopped and changed constantly all season with no improvement and making the exact same errors every week. Certain players disappearing or left out in the cold if they dont tow the Johnson party line. Other favorites who no doubt tow the Johnson party line play even when no fit. The decent players, Jarvis, Lawrence being dragged down by the rest. I really do wish Johsnon would just do the decent thing and F**ck off now but the sadist owners who seem to enjoy the fan base suffering will just keep backing him.

Apart from the offside goal two things summed up our seemingly endless ways of hitting the self destruct button. First was a header from Marshall early in the second half when he deliberately placed it..... on the wrong side of the post with the goal at his mercy. Then late on we had a break down the right and Donellan passed it forward to Stobbs with much too much on it and it ran harmlessly over the line for a goal kick.

Cannot get to the game today You missed Torquay scoring first against poor opposition, then letting them back in the game with a soft penalty and conceiding a winner in injury time. It's not that this happens every game is it? And always down our right back area - unbelievable Jeff At least we have some top players on two-year contracts to help us next season. Would like to keep Jarvis for next season along with Dawson. Is Lapsie under contract for next season

Watching Torquay at the moment is the same as watching The Mousetrap. It doesn't matter how many times you see it the ending is always the same!

I had written two scripts for this. The one I wanted was Nouble coming off the bench to score the winner. Saw a brief trailer for this one interrupted by a linesman’s flag.
The other one was not original, but copied from bitter experience. We are the better of two poor teams. One up, could be more. Concede a sloppy goal down our right side, push up to chase a winner and concede another sloppy goal down our right side in stoppage time. Groundhog Day.
Dawson and Jarvis were excellent. Hall did o.k for the hour that I expected him to, but looked utterly knackered after that. We had the choice of Hanson or McGavin to replace him. You are spoiling us ambassador. Seemed ridiculous not to sub Hall earlier, but…. The former proprietor of the Ellacombe Snooker Club posted on Facebook that Hall on his hands and knees is still better than McGavin - the worst midfielder he had seen in 55 years of following United. I asked him if he had ever seen Hanson play…..
Nouble came on when expected and looked as up-to-speed, or not, as you would expect. Was sure he would replace Collins, so was surprised when it was Evans who came off. I think it was because Evans had picked up a knock. He had been doing a good job filling in as third central midfielder and linking to the front three. We missed that when replaced by a straight striker, particularly with Hall knackered. Should have used all three subs and gone 4-3-3.
We have discussed Donnellan recently. You can be much better than Crowe, Mensah, Hanson, McGavin, Marshall, Tomlinson and Omar and still not be good enough.
Having Marshall next to him is an accident waiting to happen. A right side of the defence reminiscent of the Chuckle Brothers. We only have two players who can defend, so split them up. If you played Omar left centre back, he would have Lawrence and Moxey either side of him. Lawrence could cover Donnellan. Marshall cannot cover Donnellan.
