The Torbay Weekly is reporting this week on Arthur Milner, former Chairman and President of our club. Milner, who lived at Protea, the distinctive house in Seaway Lane, was Chairman from 1955 to 1965, and then President until 1970.
Milner has been awarded a blue plaque, which has been put up at Protea, ostensibly for being Chairman and President of TUFC. The only other blue plaque recipient connected to the club is Peter Cook. who has two, at Plainmoor, outside the pop side entrance and one outside the home where he was born, in Middle Warberry Road.
Apart from owning factories in the Midlands and being an enthusiastic football fan, not much else is said about Milner-does anyone know more about his involvement at TUFC?

I think he had links to Birmingham City and was possibly the reason we had a few Brummie players around that time, with Robin Stubbs especially the key signing from the area. I might be wrong in that but I have a feeling he was the link.

Arthur Milner is possibly the most influential figure in the history of the club.
His time at the club coincides exactly with the greatest times in the club's history - but it was definitely no coincidence.
Will post a full tribute when I get the time.
