Having lived in Dorking for 7 years & nearby for the last 6 I thought I may give a short guide to Dorking. Dorking itself sits astride the junction of the A24 (coming from Epsom area towards the south coast) and the A25 from the Guildford area towards Reigate meeting at a roundabout with a 4m high stainless steel cockerel in the centre.
The High street has many car parks hidden behind the shops all the way along. The main car park is adjacent to the Meadowbank Stadium holds 237 vehicles easy to get into......but driving out ? Plenty of other car parking options
Google 'Dorking car parks and charges which will give you a map of the High street and car parks. In particular see the 'White Horse Hotel' which is halfway along the High Street and directly opposite Mill Lane which leads down to the football ground approx 350 m away
I will be parking in the Southside car park (post code RH4 1AE} which is 200 m from the White Horse hotel on the same side
Please note that car parking is free after 6pm in all MVDC car parks There are several pubs in the vicinity and food outlets ie KFC and fish & chips shops particularly at the Reigate end of High St.
Travelling: you may prefer to drive up the M3 and M25, come off at junction 9 (good luck ) I come off the M3 at Junction 4 (not 4A), A331 to Guildford, A3 Guildford bypass towards London and come off at the Ripley junction turning right towards Dorking. Hope all this helps
I choose the wrong Barnet (Trophy)game to get to Plainmoor last week but after yesterdays win, Looking for another 3 points COYY
