So sorry to hear of Ray Tabb's passing.
A larger than life character, he did not let the loss of a leg stop him getting to Plainmmoor.
I was pleased to have found a press cutting for him of the time when he signed for Derby County as a pro.
I remember that an early version of Barry Hugman's excellent register of Football League players mistakenly had him down as making a league appearance for the Rams, although he never got past their reserve team.
His job in the police meant he and his young family had to move from Brixham to Exeter many years ago, but that did not put his son Nigel off supporting United
As many will know, Nigel has faithfully followed the Gulls home and away from his Exeter home all his life.
